One of my favorite professors I have had in my time here. He genuinely wants to see you become a better writer, and every class I had with him inspired me greatly! You can tell how knowledgable he is about this subject and how deeply he believes in it. I couldn't have asked for a more respectful teacher. If you're on the fence, take his class!!!!!!

Professor Rogers was a great guy! He was engaging and always helped us when we had difficulty. He also gave awesome feedback on assignments. Make sure you do your readings .. he'll get upset if you don't! He won't give you anything boring to read anyways. He'll pass you but he overall genuinely cares about you being a good writer. 10/10!

Professor Rogers is such an easy-going teacher and person overall. He cares about his students and wants nothing more than for them to succeed and it is evident in the way he teaches. He is aware students sometimes have a lot on their plate so he keeps that into consideration while still giving a pretty decent workload to get an A. Great teacher!

A nice guy and an easy A, but you might not learn anything. Theres very little discussion or classwork, and classes are 90% lecture/video. His lectures are dense, rambling, and based on advanced material - it didnt feel like an introductory class. He only graded the three projects, though, and hes an easy grader if you put in minimum effort.

One of the best professors in the english department at GMU. Rogers prioritizes your development as a writer more than throwing the book at students. If you get a chance to take him, definitely do so as the professional writing class is very beneficial for seniors.

Highest possible rating. Best teacher at GMU. Took the class during the 4-wk summer semester. Read and wrote about 2 books and created a powerpoint. A very smart guy, and very helpful, encouraging, and understanding. I learned a lot and would definitely take another class with him.

Highest possible recommendation. We read 2 books, 1 assigned & 1 chosen from a list of related books, & we wrote papers based on the reading. I took his class during the 4-week summer semester, & learned a lot in that short time because his lectures were great. Tho the class is not "self-paced," he was very accommodating on deadlines.

By far the easiest and most beneficial 300 level course I have ever taken. I took this class in June, 2016 and I recall spending maybe 3-5 hours a week on this class and most of that time was spent reading a book you select. If you want a gpa booster, TAKE THIS SUMMER CLASS

His style of teaching is amazing. Although, there are no tests or exams you learn so much, more than in a traditional class. He cares about your success and is the coolest dude around.

Prof. Rogers class did not have a heavy workload and was very stress free. You pick a book and summarize it and create a power point on it. There are some small writing assignments throughout. Very easy for the course, if you take him, you should get an A. You will probably not learn a great deal in the the class though.

I took this class during the summer, and I'm very glad I did. You get to pick a book of your choice out of 6 options and write a few summaries about it and also prepare a power-point. There are weekly assignments, which are all very easy to complete, there is no midterm or final, overall very stress free class, and interesting topics. TAKE HIM!!

Amazing. Pretty easy class for a requirement. I thought it would be a lot more arduous than it was. I really enjoyed the material we covered and I walked away from the class excited to use my new knowledge. Rogers puts an intense focus on creating students that know how to use what they know. This isn't a memorize and regurgitate class.

Prof. Rogers kept it light and simple for the summer session. His approach was realistic and actually provided students with essential tools for their future. Not the avg. english class you expect. Very approachable. I had no interest in this whatsoever before. But, I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. I highly recommend Prof. Rogers!
