For a non-major introductory course, it is pretty difficult. However, Dr. Brickman does try her best to make her lectures as engaging as a biology lecture can be.

Dr. Brickman is wonderful, and her class was terrific! She made the material relevant and interesting. Once the pandemic hit, our next unit was fully shifted to learning about the Coronavirus and how disease spread. She cares about her students, is patient, and is overall all a good person. I fully believe she is secretly a Hogwarts professor.

Really great professor for this class! She's really sweet and organized, and randomly assigns everyone to groups for the semester that you'll do most of your classwork with. As long as you come to class and work well with your group members, this class isn't bad at all!! She responded gracefully to the online COVID-19 setting as well!!

Professor Brickman made this class really interesting with engaging lectures. Attendance isn't "mandatory" but she does do a lot of tophat and group assignments so you should always go to class. Tests aren't too difficult, just study and do the assigned work and readings and you should be fine!

Harder than it needed to be for an intro class. A lot of group activities; hope that you get a smart group. Tests are taken individually, then as a group. I failed 3/5 of my tests & still got an A because my group was smart. 1 test is dropped. A lot of group activities outside of class too. Class is very organized & you know exactly what to expect.

I love Peggy. She is so passionate about her lectures it's so easy to stay engaged. The class itself is not that bad as long as you go to class and take some notes. It is kinda hard for an intro class but there are so many resources on ELC to help. Like practice tests and quizzes. There is a lot of group work so if you have a bad group it'll suck.

This is probably more of a department issue, but this class is way too hard for an intro biology class. Lectures are too fast and hard to follow, group work is heavy, tests are very difficult. I think she does her best to provide resources to help students but the material is too complex for an intro class.

for a class that most folks take only because they have to and arent actually bio majors this class was kind of difficult. she is very knowledgeable and cares about the material but her tests are harder and require a ton of brain power to maybe pass. the online materialkina helps but she expects you to understand everything to a much greater level

Peggy is pretty fye. She goes pretty fast through lectures, I never understood anything until I taught myself outside of class. You have to show up because they use TopHat. Tons of group work but none of it is difficult. She gives extra credit. If you put in the effort to learn it yourself you'll be fine, none of it is that difficult.

Dr. Brickman is the best! Group worksheet each day but they correlate with the power points. Takes a feedback to see which topics students want to spend the most time on and tailors the class to that. Tests are open note. Made us cupcakes and brought ginger ale during the last week of class!

I took the honors version of 1103, so if you're able to do that take Dr. Brickman. She's so nice and answers any question you throw at her during lectures. You also do a lot of fun activities in and outside of class. There's barely any homework and the tests are open note and everything. Just pay attention and it's an easy class

This class is such a good choice to take if you're in honors, you aren't a bio/chem major, and you need a life science. It was so chill with WS's in class and open note quizzes due online before class (but they're easy, and she will help). The tests were all open note, online in class, and the final is the exact same. Brickman is a gem & so nice!

It was a large class but since we had assigned group members it made the class less intimidating. We did A LOT of group work which can be good or bad depending on your group. She was a good lecturer who was very approachable and came to class ready and enthusiastic 9 times out of 10. I thought she was great.

Get ready for group projects! Class is kind of difficult for an intro class but not impossible. Tests are individual and group which is awesome. Brickman is super organized but projects are annoying. Lot of Tophat though which really boosts your grade. Definitely wouldn't take this class unless you have to. She's overall a solid teacher.

Professor Brickman tries to make the information interesting. Her teaching isn't bad but it can get boring sometimes and the group work can be confusing. Not too hard, just a lot of group involvement and you know how that goes. Tests aren't bad if you study

She's an okay professor. The tests are more about being able to apply what you learn. Lots of group projects. Both group and individual tests, but you do get a drop test. Got good grades on all the assignments, but low grades (60-66) on two of the tests, and still made an A. If you do good on group and individual assignments, you should be fine.

Professor Brickman is truly one of my favorite professors at UGA thus far. She is very caring and wishes to get to know her students better. There are A LOT of group projects, but majority of the time they are easy and fun if you have cooperative group members. She is an avid user of technology and Top Hat!!

Dr. Brickman is amazing!! She is so caring and funny and organized and clear about what she wants. Tons of group assignments with an assigned group but we received 100 on most. Dr. Brickman is engaging and tries to get to know her students even in the 300 person lecture hall. Not necessarily easy A, but put in the work and you'll be fine. Take her!

Dr. Brickman is a very good professor. The content in this class is challenging, but she is good at explaining the content. Everyone is assigned to a group of 4 where you complete various assignments and projects throughout the semester. For tests, you take an individual test and then a group test. Always take the practice tests for extra credit!

Comment:
Dr. Brickman is really good at explaining the content to people that are not science related majors, or have never studied the topics before. Almost everything is done with a group of four people, so most of the assignments are really easy to get a 100 on . For every test, you take an individual& group test, and she drops the lowest of both.
