There's a lot of homework in the class which is only 10% of the grade. The lectures seem to be very long, and the tests are very difficult. Even with 85+ being an A, a lot of the class still struggles. Too bad he's very common around Chem department. He could make the lectures more clear though.

Difficult but very knowledgeable. He cares about student's success - the ones who are willing to work for it, that is. He's more interested in having students use their heads to learn and understand the subject of chemistry (or any subject) rather than memorizing formulas. If you aren't willing to put forth the effort, then don't take a science.

Horrible, I took at Alameda, he doesn't go over every chapter in class. He's a geologist so expect him to tie rocks into his lecture. His lectures are horrible and he'll go over 2 sec in a chp and expect you to read and learn at home and prepare for the exams. Grading is not clear on test its whatever he feels you deserve, Good Luck, DONT TAKE!

THE WORSE PROF ALIVE. This prof should be your plan Z of plan Z, the last choice unless you have to. It's not even worth it to take him even though there isn't anyone left. I high key hate everyone who said to take this prof. SAVE YOUR TIME, HEALTH, MONEY, AND YOUR OWN PRIDE BY NOT TAKING HIM. Trust me on this one he really needs to retire.

Peter is a really nice and smart guy but he struggles to teach. He's very passionate about Geology but can't dumb it down for students to learn. Tests are 100 questions and closed notes. No study guide. Everyone fails so he gives the option to take the same test home and he will average both grades. He is fair like that. He also curves grades.

A lot of homework, goes through material quickly, and a test every two weeks. I took this same class at a different college years ago and it was nowhere nearly as difficult as this class. Would definitely recommend not taking a heavy courseload with this course.

Will insult you on your ability to count valence electrons and will ask you at what age you learned to count. Has big conspiracy theory about two rocks hitting the earth. Old quizzes and tests are online and are helpful. He wants you to join mesa. Homework is online about 40 problems a week. Final is a standardized multiple choice test

He expects you too know chemistry already, had quizzes every other Monday doesn't teach the material at all and expects you too know everything first exam wasn't until 2 days before the drop date which had 9 chapters on it pretty ridiculous if you ask me fail that exam and you won't pass avoid if you can

All the homework is on sapling and its not hard to get at least a B if you have the book and work from there only. His lectures are LONG (usually go over the class time) and boring. Does not do a good job of teaching what's on the homework and his tests are very hard, he will says "there's a few questions on the quiz I did not go over, good luck"

Test are unpredictable. Lectures are not organized. I've taken up to organic chemistry however received B and C's so I was retaking this course to attempt A's however due to him wanting you to know the book inside and out made it impossible for me. I was getting by with a C in his lecture and getting an A in both the online homework and lab.

Professor Olds is very smart, so he sometimes has trouble dumbing down the information to teach it well. My suggestion is to read the Chapter before lecture and treat lecture like review or time to ask questions. This helped me tremendously. He stays after class regularly and helps students. He is really funny and a very nice person.

very hard tests and homework takes forever. class average for tests was always around 60% sometimes less. He does curve a lot though which is good. a b in the class is 75% so it's doable but it's hard. had to take time off work because the workload was insane. doesn't reply promptly to emails. nice guy bad teacher. tests are unpredictable.

Peter is quite the character. He knows his chemistry, but, man, it can be hard to follow him sometimes. To enter his class and do well can be difficult. One either has to ignore his eccentricity or be willing to jump in and attempt to decipher seemingly incomprehensible genius. This class is tough. He intends to be kind, but is occasionally curt.

This is one of the hardest teachers ever. Chemistry is already hard enough, but he makes it ten times harder. Talks too fast and seems like he is in his own world, hard exams that are worded in tricky ways, its hard to know what the question even means. This guy is horrible for chemistry, unless you want to fail. If you want an F, take him.

He really shouldn't be teaching... He made mistakes and didn't count very well. he circumscribed 10% of my test grade and when i confront him he said I changed the answers. He distrust his student and I was not in the mood for abusive behavior. I dropped the class. . .

This teacher doesnt know how to teach although he likes to think that he does. you have a test every thurs and they are tough. he doesnt curve even though the class average was a 50%. Your midterm is 400 points and you also a regular test that week on Thurs as well. Final is 800. Doesny explain things well at all.
