3. but overall, as I made an effort to try to understand physics in his way, one thing I learned is that there is a method to the madness and that, physics can be actually fun. RIP, Dr. Phil. Believe it or not, many of us found you to be truly inspiring.

2. In retrospect, his lectures displayed the Feynman effect the material seems interesting and engaging during the lecture, but you find later that your notes do not make sense when it comes to studying on your own. Ive had my fair share of cluelessness when it came to studying for the exams, but overall (continued above)

He will help students that help themselves. In his class he gives the equations you'll need for exams and the occasional quiz but it is up to the student to study on their own. Allows a note card of equations on quizzes and exams which aren't as hard as some other physics classes.

I ended up dropping the class, for a student who's never taken physics before, he was very hard to understand and I don't recommend taking him for a physics class if you've never had physics..

Half way through the semester, here are my notes. If you can take this class with anyone else, do it. His handwriting is so small you have to sit in the front row to read it, he will go over notes and equations for the first 10 min, then it's story time after that. Makes you feel like an idiot for asking questions. Truly regret taking his class.

Quite difficult class but he really knows his physics. Never even got the book, never went to office hours. Have to really understand material for quizes which are every week. Gives practice exams, memorize how they are done. Follow directions for the paper and u get 100%. Quite difficult grading scale as well.

Human cartoon. Really obese and difficulty walking from one side of the chalkboard to another. He seemed like kind of a jerk at first but I came to realize that he is a nice person. He will help you if you take time to ask a thoughtful question, particularly during his office hours. His office was a complete mess and he got slightly off topic a lot

Probably one of the most unprofessional professors I have had my entire college career. He is not very friendly, makes you feel inadequate for asking questions, NEVER refrences the book and only actually teachers for a total of ten minutes during class! If you can, take this class WITH SOMEONE ELSE! You're welcome in advance.

AVOID AT ALL COST! I have never gotten below a B my whole life, including my last semester of college, yet i failed this class. I showed someone in the other phys class my quiz and he was completely clueless on what we were doing. He does not teach at all. If your lucky he will do one problem a day. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

There were days that we never dicussed physics. We would talk about him and his past experiences. Not very helpful when it came to answering questions. Treated you like dirt for asking a question. Department head had to step in to help students. Great guy, but needs to realize students are here to learn, not story time.

One of the better physics professors ive had. Focuses on teaching a solid basic understanding of principles and gives slightly harder problems on quizes and tests. ALL PHYSICS TEACHER ARE VERY PARTICULAR ABOUT WRITTEN WORK. Form will loose you points in any physics class not just his. I enjoyed his stories as well.

Introductory, minimal math, physics class. But let me tell you, this professor will write 3 things on the board before he starts lecturing/narrating his life experiences, and never really gets back on topic. His process of formulating your grade is all estimation. What ever your "estimated" grade is at the end of the term. That is what you'll get.

Good professor. Interesting stories, offers a break from physics. Handwriting is hard to read, could slow down bit in examples. Otherwise good, helpful, and clear. Sweet beard as well.

One of my favourites. I will admit his teaching style is unique, but if you go to class you should be able to follow along. One of the most entertaining courses I have taken at Western.

Dr. phil may seem like hes a funny and nice teacher at the begining of the semester but that soon wears off when you find out that none of his exams are off the lecture material, so you better read the book! Class was harder than my 3000+ course I was taking. Cumulative finial and quizzes that have nothing to do with any the material covered. AVOID

No review before exams, the "study guide" are roughly 30 questions and about 3 of these questions show up on the actual exams. Too much information in the book, not enough information from his notes.

Genuinely nice guy, buttttt he likes to show pictures of galaxies instead of teaching us what we need to know for the exam. Very lenient on quizzes, overall alright class. He posts all notes and exam dates online...so realistically, you don't even have to go to class, and still do fine. Don't get on his bad side...
