Chase is amazing! Took him in person for Comp 1 and online for Comp II. He is a great professor who really cares and engages his students. Def would take him again! Comp II you have 3 papers and final as well and discussion posts! He is one of a kind professor! My final was optional! Chase works with each student and wants them to succeed!

I took Dr. Chase for comp II Spring 2020 and OH MY GOD best professor I've ever had!!!! Awesome feedback, easy grader, and always helps when you're confused. I took it online and I still had to rent a textbook and the class is reading heavy but honestly if you just skim the readings and reply to peers you'll pass. I'm taking him next semester too!!

Comment:

I had Dr. Chase for English Classics. I got a C in his class, but I blame myself for not turning in a rough draft of my final paper. Seriously, give him a rough draft of your paper! I am shy, so this was hard for me but if youre into class discussions, this is the class for you. He was very understanding and kind, overall. He genuinely cares.

Great professor. I had him for Comp2. He gives a quiz at the start of every class so don't be late. They are very easy but they are designed to make sure you do the readings which I personally found interesting and fun. Easy A if you take the time to read. You'll have a major paper on either a poem or story but he guides you through the process.

Dr. Chase is an amazing professor. On campus, he gives daily quizzes on the readings he assigned. Super easy and he drops the 2 lowest grades. One presentation and 3 in class essay 1 at home essay. He is supering caring and works with each student. Textbook is used in his class. I hope I can take him for Comp II. I definitely recommend Dr. Chase!

I was nervous to take comp. 2 online after my experience in comp. 1 with a different professor but Dr. Chase is a real gem! Lots of reading in this class but he didn't deduct from my grade for every little grammatical error, instead he truly grades you on your efforts as a student. If I had to take more English, I would absolutely take him!

An amazing professor with a great attitude. If you're looking for a interesting and engaging approach to any English class he's the way to go. Classes are enjoyable thanks to his friendly personality and passionate approach. You will be expected to read and keep up with assignments, and he is a fair grader. I took Professor Chase for my first on line English class. He was extremely organized! His grading is extremely fair and he has very specific guidance. He always made himself available to meet with me and guided me. You have to work hard for an A, but he is very helpful. I took him again for my second on line English class.

The best professor I've ever had. Brilliant, beautiful, caring and his classes stimulate such intelligent conversation. Quizzes every day, but if you read, you will get an A on every quiz (I never missed a question). Take Chase for every class possible, and pick his brain, because it is very full.

His class is a great elective to take, but you can't just show up and expect to get an A. Every class you have to have the reading done because he has a quiz as soon as the class starts (if you show up late you get a zero) But he's overall very fair and helpful. He also assigns a 7 page research paper, but he's always willing to help.

Reading every class but it isnt hard and the reading is fun and interesting. there are three inclass essays but u get two classes for completing n one presentation but it can be on one of the inclass essay also there is a paper which is also pretty easy imo. there are small quizes every class but supereasy!

English Comp 2 is a terribly boring course, but Prof. Chase manages to get you through it in pretty much the least painful way possible. Fair bit of reading and writing involved, but as long as you actually complete all of the assignments and do a half-decent job, you'll pass. Good professor.

Truly amongst the top three teachers I've ever had. I could not believe the contrast between my first-semester teacher ( a doofus) and Dr. Chase. For the first time ever, I enjoyed English and began looking forward to class. Dr. Chase is one of the most understanding people alive and helped me through a rough patch. His online class was very organized and he responds quickly to emails. There is a 7 page paper, but he is always willing to help you through it. Lots of reading, but it's worth it for such a great class. You can tell he's passionate about the material. The quizzes are easy as long as you do the reading he assigns. I highly recommend this class.

Professor Chase is awesome! I took two online classes with him, both were well organized, easy to follow, and he was very responsive to emails. I'm not into fiction but I thoroughly enjoyed both classes with him. As long as you do the reading, take the super easy quizzes, and devote time to your papers, you will do well. He is a wonderful teacher!
