This class screwed me over in every way. I learned absolutely nothing! She was always unprepared and scattered brained, very unprofessional. Whatever you do, DO NOT take this class with her!

Some of her statements during her lectures make absolutely no sense or are down right laughable.I have learned nothing from her, but I have learned quite a bit from the text assigned (3 novels and a textbook to read). I noticed about 90% of students bring their laptops, which can be explained by her lectures making absolutely no sense. Sweet woman

She is a very sweet woman but I did not enjoy her class. The lectures that she gave were pointless to the class and never showed up on exams. The class was dull and thankfully we had people of different religions in the class to teach us properly.If you read the text you will do well on tests. Make sure to participate in class discussions!

Completely absentminded. She spends the whole class talking about random things. AND there is no rhyme or reason to her grades. If you think you've been judged unfairly, you probably were. Follow through.

This class was so refreshing in the middle of my busy week! It was very meditative. I recommend that you take this class/professor if you are open-minded and willing to think outside your busy world. You will get a lot more out of it if you do. Class was easy, you maybe had something due once or twice a month.

I love this professor. She's really into personal spiritual development. The papers are easy but long. Her lectures are a bit scattered but pay attention to the details, because they will be helpful on the assignments she hands out. I would only recommend her to those who are open minded for a very different learning experience.

I'm not a fan. Labarre seems nice enough, i guess. she' kinda crazy. class is essentially pointless. she does very little teaching. i've learned more from the group presentations than her. her grading is unpredictable. boring time consuming papers. i had a 3 hour class once a week so mayb that has something to do with it, she couldn't keep up

The best required class for nursing school I've taken. Well thought out and presented. Helpful in personal and professional life. Not nearly as sad as the title 'Suffering and Death' might sound. Good practical information and a great variety of guest speakers. Give this class a chance because you will definitely learn a lot.

I'm pretty sure she's a demon disguised as a sweet old woman. I keep looking for the hooved feet, but her shoes hide them pretty well. She drove me insane. The overly flowery manner of speech (essay tests are a chance to let our creativity flow? Really?), and the tendency to move up due dates for big projects right before they're due...Not fun.

Hilarious cute little lady. If you make friends with her she tells you a random fact about something weird in her life every class. For some reason she talked to me every day about stuff she read in the newspaper, saw on a trip somewhere, etc. Easy class, no real lecture, tough quizzes but easy everything else.

Take this class if you want an easy intro to religion. Her quizes are difficult but the papers are a sinch (I wouldnt even recommend even reading the novels)! 2 group projects a quiz everyother week and 6 1-2 pg papers!

Prof. Labarre is great for an intro theo class. I'm not religious at all, but she made it easy for me to learn about all different kinds of religions. The group projects are easy, but you'll do really well if you make them interactive. Also, if you can get a guest speaker, you are golden.

she is extremly nice and understanding! you can really tell that she has a passion for teaching theology and world religions! quizes are hard, papers are easy! she can be a nut sometimes, but it makes the class fun! she's just really awesome!
