She will get you to think, at least sometimes. She is organized and likes to discuss. She also tends to be very aloof in office hours, not providing much assistance. She comes from a a high-income background, which shows in some of her humor and comments on the lower-class. Not all that impressed.

Lots of reading and writing. Not bad for a comm b class though. Prof talks and talks in lecture and it gets boring, but you really only have to listen to the main points and also her quotes from the book which show up on the exams.

Prof Walkowitz relays her ideas extremely well and she has alot of intelligent things to say, but she says them so fast, most of the time you're just racing to copy all of them down. My TA was very helpful and reasonable with the grading.

Walkowitz is one of the professors that I respect the most. She's incredibly intelligent and presents material in interesting ways. She really challenges her students. If you work hard, it will pay off!

Talks and talks and talks...and talks. Sometimes I think she is just talking to hear herself talk, and I get the feeling she makes a lot of things up and just shouts them out and makes them sound smart. Just listen to the paragraphs she picks out of books, and learn those, they show up on exams.

This woman really knows her stuff and lectures from start to finish, literally nonstop. I think if I'd been interested in the subject I would have enjoyed the class more. Nonetheless, Professor Walkowitz always was clear and forthright. Great professor - of course, if English is your thing.

THIS WOMAN IS AMAZING & definitely knows her stuff. Only class I've ever attended all lectures for. Tests are very straight forward if you have attended lecture and taken notes. She makes somewhat boring lit so interesting.

She shouldn't be an English professor. Her main thesis for the course is easily contradicted, and she does not know the definitions of many literary terms i.e. she introduces them incorrectly in lecture. The good news is, you never have to go to.
