Professor Baranski is a wonderful instructor. Review and study all your handouts and you will be fine. My only complaint is there is a lot of homework which gets in the way of being able to study. I did not find the online homework from the book helpful at all. The other website she uses helps you to understand the material more clearly.

DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU DO not have a Spanish background I got an A because I'm a fluent speaker just took this for an easy A i had to help the people in my class b/c they were struggling she really does not know how to explain and break things down but i loved her !

Professor Baranski wants everyone to do well. She does give a lot of homework, but I'm glad she did because it helped me do really well on the quizzes and tests. Also, if you miss class, she automatically sends e-mails out so you know exactly what to study from home and what the homework is. She's very helpful. I would definitely take her again.

I see from comments 8 years old that she hasnt honed her craft. I really wanted to learn Spanish but she did a good job of turning me off. She moves way too fast and rushes the class during quizzes, tests and classwork. Seriously DO NOT take her unless you already have a firm grasp of the language. Nice lady but an awful teacher.

She is wonderful - be patient with her and the work. When learning a new language, practice is key in building skill. The amount of work she makes you do will help you retain the language, instead of knowing it for one sem and forgetting it the next. She's a very kind and helpful lady, if u need the help, she will go miles to reach out and HELP!

If you don't have much background in Spanish, I think you shouldn't take her. She gives a lot of work for practice. Tests are fair, and you get a review sheet. Just review the work you do in class and you'll be fine. You do learn a lot, just be willing to learn. There is no easy way out.

Nice lady but can't teach to save her life.Bad memory,she forgets to cover sections and gives you quiz.Emails you a day before to give you more homework.Most kids dropped out.I speak fluent Spanish so I did ok but the rest of the kids wanted to report her to the dean.For Spanish2 I took Prof Ramer.Wow what a difference.Baranski is terrible. I don't care what anyone has to say about her. She's a very caring, helpful professor. As long as you come in to class and show her your trying she will pass you. I think she the best spanish teacher there at Middlesex. I guess the the people who gave her bad comments were lazy asses. I think she more helpful than Prof. Saborido.

Must attend EVERY class, it's a major part of her grading system. She likes girls, and she likes when you speak up in class. A lot of partner work. Very social class. As long as she sees you trying and you ask for help, she will be okay. If you aren't outgoing, and don't remember anything from span1, don't take this teacher.
