I had Dr. Rhonda Hartman in 1998 for Society and the Law and the lectures and discussion in class were ones where I wanted to come back the next week. She graded on Midterm (40%)& Final (60%). Both tests were long and intricate but as long as you attended and participated in lectures (and read the book) an A was attainable.

One of the nicest women you could ever hope to meet. She is compassionate and wants each student to grow from the class. Especially take her with a small class.

I disagree with everyone here. Hartman was exceptionally helpful with me, understanding, and overall quite nurturing. Class was engaging, rewarding, but she does put an emphasis on writing-get used to it. My favorite prof at Pitt by far.

Hartman is one of the worst instructors I have ever had. She is narrow minded, refuses to accept anyones opinion but her own and refuses to admit that she is ever wrong. She ignores her students. I would avoid her at all costs

She's terrbile! Incredibly unclear and narrow-minded. Ignores raised hands and is unwilling to accept any opinions as insigtful or even plausible. Stay away at all costs!!!!
