Comment:

I had him for an online class, and while he was hilarious, he didn't offer good feedback at all. He grades based on whether you followed his layout (to the LETTER!), and doesn't even try to correct your grammar, spelling, or format. One of my paragraphs was 2 sentences longer than he wanted, and I lost a lot of points. I don't recommend taking him.

I once read that you'd be lucky to find one teacher in your entire high school and college career that will just be THAT teacher, that inspires you. I found that in this guy. I can say that in all honesty while adding that single English course I ever took in school, I got an A in, except for in this class. I got a C. AWESOME TEACHER.

Doesn't base his grades on if he likes you...but if you are a slacker who doesn't want to show up to class...you'll get on his bad side...and he'll sarcastically make fun of you for it. i say it's deserved. anyway, GREAT teacher, taught me more about writing in a way i enjoyed and understood better than i thought possible.

One of the best teachers I've came across at CCBC. So for all the HATERS that talk trash, get it right, Rick Kay is great at what he does. You can absorb more from his class by all of the off topic subjects such as Indians, and Marco Polo, etc., because they are directly linked to the topic subject. I agree, KAY FOR PRESIDENT or the DEAN of CCBC!

This guy is friggin amazing. this is my first semester at CCBC and hes pretty much my motivation for wanting to get up in the a.m. to go to school. definitely the coolest teacher ive had ever.

He's an extremely nice guy with a great personality. He makes the class interesting and instructs it well. When you listen to his lectures, you are certain of him. I felt a great sense of trust in him. He knows what he's talking about.
