The class is dry but he tries to add personal stories. Attendance is not mandatory but it helps - especially if you didn't buy the book. He doesn't use Blackboard or any online grading. No homework - grade is based off of 3 exams and a final. He's reasonable though and will do his best to make sure all succeed.

Rick is an overall great guy. He is funny and tries to make the class interesting even though its a dull topic. Unfortunately, there is no homework in his classes and your grade is based solely on exams. The textbook for this course is not my favorite because there is no highlighted vocab. Exams are a little rough, average grade being a C.

Super easy. DOn't need to go to class. Tests are straight definitions from the textbook and lectures are not on the test at all.

Went to class maybe 6 times the entire semester and had it 3 days a week. If you go to class he gives out 5 points every once in a while. Tests are a little tough, have to study and I recommend using the book because he doesn't teach you anything in class. He's hilarious and cool but his tests are a joke - 35 questions got 50 points for (15 free)

Rick is a great professor. He tries to make this boring class interesting by adding in personal stories. He cares about students, and if you have a problem, he would be happy to help you. Attendance is not mandatory, but I wasn't bored out of my mind in class. I would take a class with him again, he has a great heart and cares about how students do

Easy class. 4 tests nothing else. Need the book for definitions but don't have to read. Study definitions and powerpoints and you won't get less than a B on exam unless you are really dumb. Lectures are boring don't go to class there is no point. Overall I spent 1 hour studying for each exam. Got a B+ in the class.

Total points in class were 3 exams and a final, if you're business illiterate this class is hard, barely passed with a C-, class is mandatory to do well, take notes

Difficult to sit through this class--basically just reads off the lecture slides. It gets pretty boring. Tests are easy, all essay. He prefers if your answers are short and to the point. I wish I had taken a different professor.

Rick Smith is the master of making class enjoyable. He is also very hilarious. He gets students to talk in class and he brings up real world examples. If you are interested in a fun class for credit, take his business ethics class. Rick smith is the cream of the crop, the kittens mittens, and the rocker of thy socks.

Rick is one of the few professors that tells you how it is- there is no sugar coating the real world. And it is awesome. He is a great guy, he has lots of stories, and lots of experience to back up his lectures. Exams are all essay- but he gives you the questions before the exam and only expects a small paragraph for an answer. Easy A!

This class is very difficult. Rick Smith is also a pretty bad teacher. His test reviews are a couple minutes long and when he lectures, he doesn't make sense. The class only consists of 3 tests and a final. I would definitely recommend taking this class with a different professor.

Rick's class was very easy. Reading is mandatory if you want to do well. The Exams are made from a test bank which used the textbook as the ONLY resource. He goes over a good portion of the exam questions with the class before the exam.

I'm not sure about his other classes, but this class is a mess. About 25% of the class is him thinking about what to say. I didn't mind because the class was easy. He pretty much gave us the answers to the tests, but he graded the essays - which are 100% of the points - harshly so the average was a C. Learned nothing of use. Sad face.

Class is easy as long as you GO TO CLASS. You don't need to purchase the cases. His exams are based off his interpretation of the case, so as long as you show up for discussions, you'll be fine. He cares about his students and is fairly flexible if you need help raising your grade.

Rick cares about the material but tends to go off on tangents. He even confused himself sometimes. Pretty much reads from the slides and didn't seem very organized/prepared. The text we used was definition-based but he tested us on application. You must go to class and really study the material to get an A. Overall, an average instructor.

I'm pretty sure I learned more about the guy's political opinions than anything related to Management. Lectures that ideas in the book are inaccurate, but tests directly from those "erroneous" concepts.
