I would avoid this professor if you can but it's not the end of the world if you don't. A far bit of work for only being a one credit class but its not difficult work, most classes are listening to guest speakers, no tests! I have no complaints of the curriculum but Dr. Johnson lacks people skills to put it nicely. Just stay dedicated and your fine

She is an absolutely horrible professor. She's the chairperson as well so she basically runs everything. Her tests are impossible and I want to cry every time I step into her class.

Comment:

Good professor (if she likes you). She will if you pay attention in class (yes her voice is terrible) and ask questions about things you need clarified. She (along with most other profs in that department) wants to be put on a pedestal. Her life is devoted to teaching nutrition and she expects yours to be devoted to learning what she teaches.

She talks down to everyone and acts like she knows everything. Gives students no chance to pass. Her quizzes were about martial we never covered yet. Also her exams are out of this world. You do not know what to study because she pulls stuff from every chapter and does not give topics to study or study guides.

If I were you I wouldn't take this class if you don't need too. I got a A but only because I broke my neck trying to study. We never did any class work or went over test things we only did project stuff. When it came down to knowing what was on the test it was very stressful because she pulls stuff from websites and not from the book. :( Good Luck

Dr. Johnson is an AMAZING professor and might have been the nicest professor I've had. She is understanding and really cares about the performance of her students. She does make you work hard but assignments are reasonable. As a visiting student to IUP, she went out of her way to help me grasp the moodle system and answered any questions I had!

DO NOT TAKE! You could read that book 10 times & still not be able to take her online exams. I even used the book during her quizzes, never got above an 80%. Lecture is worthless so take your laptop, she can't get through the material 'cuz she spends the first 20 mins looking at moodle. She is so rude, & don't expect any help if you have a problem.

Prof Johnson is so rude to everyone. Your answers to her questions are NEVER right. She has very unorganized assignments and expects you to practically read her mind to know what she wants. She picked a $200 book for the class because the pictures are "pretty." Also, tests are way more complex than the book's materials.

First off, as the previous comments state, her voice is awful. She really does talk down to everyone and acts like she is some queen. You ask her a question and you usually just get a snide response. She interrupts people when they talk, even though this class is all about "professionalism".. maybe she should take the class herself..

HORRIBLE PROF! She forgets that in this class there are a large range of majors and she teaches to only the dietetics majors, which would be fine in lets see a 300 or 400 level class. She constantly references Anatomy, Physiology, and Cell Bio all classes most of us didnt take! Read the book ignore her notes!

I agree that her voice was shrill and difficult to listen too, and she talked down to you like a child. There were a lot of guest speakers, but I didn't learn much from them because they were pretty much all from hospitals and I was expecting (in a class about CAREERS) to hear from others who have worked elsewhere. Dr. Johnson goes above and beyond her duties as a professor. She's what people like to say as "difficult" because she wants to challenge you to your fullest potential! All of you who know her: "Quit your crying and finish the job that you came for...A degree," and those of you who don't know her... give her a chance! She's a great person!

This class was the easiest class I had ever taken in my life.just go to the class, listen to the speakers and write down the main points that u have to submit in the end of the class. there were 3 assignments which were easy (maybe exception for the interview).there was no final exam.just a 15 minutes group meeting and submit the 3rd assignment.

Well yes she does interupt guest speakers and omg is her voice like nails on a chalkboard. She doesnt give tests in this class, but alot of outside work for only being 1 credit! Be sure to go to class and fill out the evaluation forms, they are attendence grades.
