She gives quizzes and refuses to have any flexibility regarding the time for the quiz. Many people have medical problems or other activities that would cause them to miss class, especially as a senior looking for a job. Her and the Dean utilize their positions to do what they want. I did not learn one thing that transferred to my accounting career.

This is a great class. Make sure to do the extra credit and all the online work or you won't pass. Very into accounting , just be ready to actually do work. Accounting is not easy but she is very clear about what is on the test.

Fantastic teacher. She really makes sure you understand the content and there is minimal work outside of class. Always willing to help. Just pay attention in class and you'll be fine.

Dr. Shawver lectures then she makes us do problems based on the lecture to learn the material--it isn't easy...there's lots of homework for her class. if you don’t understand she will help you. powerpoints and practice quizzes help too.

Take Shawver for both of the mandatory accounting classes if you aren't an accounting major. She is so much easier than the other professors. She personally helps you if you are having problems. She also basically spells the exams out for you the class before the test.

The course content itself is difficult. She gives exam review guide for the problems on the exam, which if you study that you will get the problem right. The multiple choice are very difficult though. She is a nice lady and willing to help, but you have to be willing to put a litle time in.

I love Dr. Shawver - she is a wonderful accounting professor. Of course the material is tricky and you need to study hard, but she is more than willing to help you. Too bad she isn't teaching managerial, or I would definitely take her.

Probably the best teacher of intro accounting. Currently taking her and learning a lot. The test is made by the department and she teaches what is on the test. She knows her stuff. Take her for Intro to Financial Responsibility if she is teaching it.
