Perkowski's lectures are pretty boring at times, especially since it is 2 1/2 hours. Having a background in Web design and Computer science, this class was easy at times. His exams come straight from the lectures and assignments. Overall a pretty easy class.

Decent professor, hard to be exciting when class is 2hr+. The slides are the key to passing his classes, just look at the study guide and review the slides(he tells you what slides to review) show up and do well on it. There is quite a few labs usually once a week accompanied by homework but they help you learn the material.

Good Professor and he clearly outlines what he wants from you. If you need any help just ask him for it and he will try to help you out as much as he can. He wants you to use efficiently what you learned in his classes.

One of the worst professors at pitt. His classes are extremely boring and he just rambles for 2 1/2 hours straight. He doesn't give clear guidelines for projects and his tests are often confusing and often contain errors which students have to get him to correct. Good thing I had a background in IS or else this class would have been unbearable.

Rob's exams and projects are easy (final is inclass and takes about 15 minutes to complete). However, if you dont have and background knowledge in coding it can be a bit more challenging because he doesn't do much of a job at teaching the how to and lectures are very boring and dragged on. Slides are posted online so missing class is no big deal.

Not a good lecturer which sucked because my class was 2.5 hours long and super boring. This is an intro class which might be a little excuse for him. Most of the time I skipped class and read the slides bc this is exactly what he would do anyhow. Does curve each test which was nice. Also no final for the class which was awesome.

Bob certainly knows his information but doesn't explain new topics to non-IS majors well. I took this class as a gen ed, however most of our class was CS majors so he taught more at their level. Our grades were based on 2 exams and 6 assignments. He teaches by reading straight off of powerpoints, so attending the lectures is not necessary.

Really nice guy but inaccessible at times. IS10 was a joke and Perkoski should not be a professor because he just reads of the powerpoints. Read the powerpoints and understand how to do the content and you'll pass.

His explanations for things can be a bit hard to follow, but if you pay attention the class is not that hard. I very much enjoyed taking IS0010 with him.

as a non-IS major, I thought this class would be basic, but most of the class was made up of IS majors or people who already had knowledge in the area. He is an inconsistent grader, powerpoints and lectures are hard to follow. I ended up teaching myself from youtube, etc. Wouldn't recommend him at all, though he is a nice guy.

For someone with any background in computer science this class should be a breeze. For anyone else it can be tough because Bob is not very good with explaining new things. If you ask for help in office hours he will be there but lecture is unorganized. (although id imagine it is hard teaching so many different levels of experience)

If you do not have any experience at all in IS do not take this class! He will confuse you, his lectures are boring and vague making it extremely hard to follow along. This is only an easy A for those who have background in IS otherwise you will fail.

Seriously the hardest class I have ever taken, even though it was a freshman level course. I was one of two non information science/computer science majors, so it was assumed everyone knew everything already. Powerpoints are not helpful when trying to go back and study, so must take notes.

Bob is the reason I am an IS major. His lectures are engaging and he makes them enjoyable by cracking jokes and providing examples that are really awesome and relevant. He changed 0010 a little bit this semester (fall 2015) and its a lot of fun. Some of the material is kind of dry but its all important stuff. TAKE THIS CLASS WITH BOB.

Mr. Perkoski is an awesome guy. Love how he's the chair of the undergrad IS department and teaches an introductory course himself. However, he's not the best professor. Super nice, I thought it was an easy peasy class, but he's quite vague with some things and just around a lot. Still can't tell if I'd take a class with him again.

He's a pretty cool. I definitely enjoyed the class - it's basically an intro to computing and the internet for non-tech people, so it's not difficult at all. Definitely recommend him. Don't buy the book, everything in it can be found online.

Rarely gave specifics, whether in lecture or for projects. Shows up to class and wings it for an hour from slides ripped from a website. Flakes on how/when he grades - this is his 3rd time teaching the course - still isn't well-defined. Seems nice, but never gave ANY feedback on assignments. Unfortunately he's still one of the best in IS - *sigh*.

The material was a joke and poorly covered in class. Tests often contained material not covered in class. Professor was practically unreachable outside of class and rarely returned e-mails. Spent an entire class talking about second life... Somehow only got B- despite being prior certified in networking through cisco and a prior comp sci major.

Perks was no fun, no help and no good. He would not even send out an e-mail to his students with date changes, just in case you missed lecture. on top of that he does not have a blackboard for the course. WORST PROF I've had since starting school here at Pitt.
