I attended this class a total of 6 times .. I received an A in the class, however, I learned absolutely nothing. There's a midterm, take home essay, final, and take home final. Study the review sheet and you'll be fine for both Tests, the take homes are easy. If you're into philosophy don't take this class, if you want an A take this class.

i took this course in spring 2015 and i regret every last minute of it. No disrespect but Professor Whites lectures will bore you to death, i barley survived throughout the semester and it was clear he didn't care if you were on the same page with him or not. i would not recommend you to take his course if you are highly interested in philosophy.

This the worst professor at Montgomery College. It is just a hour long of lecture. You have two essays with a midterm and a final, that is it. You don't use the book until the last week for the final and there is very little to almost none homework. He is not open to help students and gets mad when you ask too many questions. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!

He does a lot of talking about nothing. His a very smart teacher. My problem was each test was randomly given. He would notice he was running out of time in the semester and hand us a test. A lot of people dropped. At the end the final "take home" was an essay on how much of the book you read.

I considered him to be boring at times with his incoherent lectures; however, that is a preference thing, and some people learn better that way. I found him to be too much driven by what he thought was right. There are times in which I found that if you disagreed with him, he graded you down. Encourages only some critical thinking.

Pretty easy professor - although his lectures aren't always that clear and can sometimes be boring. He's nice and encourages critical thinking.

his class is NOT that hard SERIOUSLY. tests are REALLY easy! essays fairly easy! -midterm & final &if you fail 1st test he doubles your 2nd test points. writing assignments worth MORE points than tests. 1 article assignment & 1 SENTENCE philosophical question (turn in separate.), 3 essay topics can total up to 7-9 pages (take home final) thats it..

he is not a very nice person. he gets irritated when you ask questions. a midterm and a final. one article assignment and a philosophical question. he also gives a take-home final in addition to the written one. i took him with honors, so i wrote a 7-10 page papers that was due at the end of the semester. avoid him!!!!

Professor White is quite the chatterbox which can be quite boring and tiresome throughout most of the semester. There are some days when he can be quite amusing but nonetheless if you are really interested in philosophy, take him. Otherwise if you want a BS credit to take, take someone else who would probably be worth your time.

I took this class for fun. We never had to do much work, but I learned a lot! Prof. White can be dry during lectures, but he's very engaging when you talk to him outside of class or in office hours. Like other people have said, you can ask him anything about religion or philosophy and he'll have something to share.

People say he rambles. True, but in his rambles he drops pearls that you will only get from an old an infinitely wise human being. Ask him literally ANYTHING about religion or philosophy. If you ask nicely he'll let you borrow from his personal library which is VAST. Do not miss an opportunity to take Bob's class its once in a lifetime.

Prof White is great. He may take a little to get used to, but don't let that turn you off. He's a brilliant professor with fascinating interests and ideas. I definitely recommend him. In terms of ease, he gives take-home exams some times. These are really nice! It makes sense for philo, because you can actually give a well thought-out response.

Prof. White is an excellent prof. It is true that he rambles a bit and goes off on tangents, but he is very intelligent and will inspire you. I've developed quite an interest in existentialism because of him. I recommend him to anyone interested in philosophy. Warning: He can get a tad bit snippy at times, especially if your late or absent a lot.

Enjoyed this class but it wasn't what I expected. Didn't use text at all. Syllabus not acurate in terms of text, class outline, or expectations & deliverables. Prof White is very knowledgeable but not very organized. Lots of writing; no tests. Heavy emphasis on eastern religions; not much focus on Christianity or Judaism. Good summer class

I enjoyed prof. white a whole lot more then others seem to. He is only boring and rambling if you are not interested about what he talks about. If you pay attention with an open mind you will learn life lessons and learn how to be critical in theory. I enjoyed his explanation of the paradoxes, iv heard it said many ways bit he explained it thebest
