Comment:
Absolutely horrible professor. Reads off of lecture slides with little to no elaboration. Unresponsive to student concerns. If you take his class, then you're going to have to put a lot of work in outside of lecture to comprehend topics. No form of exam preparation (study guides, hints, clues, etc.). DO NOT TAKE unless you have no other choice.

Terrible at every class he teach even Senior Project class. 1. He never responds to emails. 2. He is never available. 3. Rude when you talk to him. Uncompassionate and doesn't care about our capstone projects. Harsh grader and never gives A's on paper. Generally, negative vibes from him.

Professor Rod Fatoohi is the most unprofessional and rude professor that I have ever had the displeasure of talking to or interacting with. I emailed him 3 times with no response during COVID-19 and when he finally got back to me he postponed our interaction by a whole week and a half. Take this Professor if you have to, and avoid at all costs.

Comment:
Prof Fatoohi is understanding, caring and as long as you meet the assignment deadlines and attend the presentations and the expo, you should receive full credit. It is highly advisable not to give your teammates full points in the individual contributions assignments because YOU will receive partial credit if you do so.

Prof Fatoohi is tough although he doesn't like to fail people. He is kind and generous but the subject is, personally, dry and difficult. The pop quizzes that are held during almost every lecture, midterm and final exam are all MCQs and require LockDown Browser. I suggest you read the book before every session. The grade is curved.

He's a fine teacher but the class format is terrible. He has pop quizzes almost everyday right at the beginning of class so don't be late! There are no study guides and you cant see the quiz or midterms after you've taken them so be prepared to study from the 500+ slides for the final.

Worst teacher I've ever experienced. Even if you try you will probably struggle and be on the border of not passing. Lectures are very unclear due to his accent (says there, there, there, there, there x100). Does not clearly explain ANYTHING. Doesn't respond to email. I really tried to give him benefit of doubt, but I can't. Avoid at all costs.

The professor's communication skills are bad and hence does not help to understand some portion of the class. Tests are good and grading criteria is also clear

Prof Rod Fatoohi's teaching style is little different from others. He teaches theory and logic in the class. We need to apply these in the exams which is more problems oriented. His midterm is easy, work out all the exercise questions in your textbook. Finals will be little difficult, but he gives good mark for project/lab/presentation.

Probably the most useless professor in the entire SJSU. He is just a GPA killer with a very low class attitude. But who cares? He has a tenure and he does not care about having always bad rating by students! It means we are stuck with this horrible teacher!

Rod Fatoohi was not helpful when I was asking questions or needed help on my project. He was also useless on his office hours. I went to his office ONCE and with his bad treatment, I did not go to his office again. I am sure this is exactly what he wants! USELESS ever!

Comment:
One of the laziest professors at SJSU. He does not provide any exam preview questions and the lab assignment and the project are useless. He does not grade based on a scale, instead, he grades on his own pleasure. There are many good professors with high level of sense of duty out there that SJSU can hire instead of him. Not recommend him at all.

Comment:
Professor Fatoohi tries to explain the material well, but the exams are different from what he taught. In class he teaches some basics theories and on the exams, he asks you application of them. This makes the class to be extremely hard. The exams are not well-written having no standard format. The lab report and project are graded not easy.

He's a good professor. Teaches the concepts and expects people to apply them. The tests are pretty hard, but open book and open notes. Not an easy class, but well taught.

Lectures were straight out of the book. Exam questions were entirely facts-based and open notes and open book. Learn to search fast because there are a gazillion facts in this class. For us, averages were: MT 62%, Lab 72%, Project 92%, Final 50%. At least there was a curve: C+/B- around the mean. Don't worry if you feel lost. Others will, too.

If there is a list containing the most useless professors of all times, Rod Fatoohi would top it. Take this class only if you want your GPA to go down for no fault of yours.

No use going to his lecture. Read the book and the book publisher slides and you'll learn more that way. Not much time to do the labs. Questions are better answered by TA's. Tests are tricky. Take him only if there is no other choice.

Uses "there" after every sentence or phrase. Not really helpful in lab, there. He just opens the room and leaves after 10 minutes, there. The class is easy if you have prior programming knowledge, there. If not, you're going to have to do a lot of learning on your own or by the book, there.
