DeVito really makes you do so much work. I see my friends who are also taking other ENG 102 courses online but they aren't struggling to keep up with the work as I am. I try to work 25 hrs/week while also taking 5 other classes. I do not recommend it unless you want to challenge yourself.

I was hesitant into taking an English class after a 3 year break from college but Professor Devito made this transition very smooth. This class consisted of 3 major writing projects, the 3rd being an 8 to 10 page paper, and some writing exercises in between that prepares you for the final paper. I recommend taking him. I learned a lot.

Probably one of my favorite professors. He gives great feedback and how to get a good grade. All the material was comprehensive, but you do need to participate in order to earn points. I only got a B because I missed the final, but overall easy A if you put the work into it. (online)

Gives great feedback and is always available to answer any questions he can. Very respectful and helpful. Great Online class, lots of material but very beneficial. He reads everything he provides to his students, so be aware of any errors. Very great Professor, would definitely take again.

Taking this class online, it was less stressful. Overall this professor is pretty good, the only struggle I have was keeping up with the things that are usually due. So participation matters. I also like how he relates the topic to cyberculture since the class was online. He gives good feedback and I enjoy taking the class online overall.

You'll have weekly discussions and quizzes. Discussions are tedious at first, but find your flow and they'll actually help your write faster (at least they did for me). Apart from this, you'll have 4 major projects. You'll have access to all 4 from the first day so you can ideally get way ahead.

What's expected: Weekly discussion +responses, weekly quizzes, frequent readings (actually reading the textbook to pass said quizzes...), four projects/major essays, and a few additional assignments He takes forever to grade discussions and papers and doesn't offer any better feedback than a friend would. Discussions seem repetitive and pointless.

Steve was the best teacher I have ever had at UNLV. I took his class online, and anytime I was confused about a paper or had any question he was so good at getting back to me. He was so understanding and was always there to help me succeed. He also always provided me with more than enough feedback and was such a helpful and kind teacher.

Pretty easy class as long as you put in time and effort in completing your essays. He can be a tough grader sometimes for the smallest things, but if you take his feedback and incorporate it into your next essays, that will help you.

He is good with responding to your emails. Definitely the most challenging English professor I've had to date, but I appreciate that because it helps me develop as a writer. Don't take that previous sentence the wrong way, because he isn't the most strict grader. His grading scale is based on your improvement/development as the course progresses.

I LOVE him! Took his class over summer. 4 essays, 12 DQs, some quizzes and the Connect Writing Matters assignment, all in 5 weeks. It was a lil crazy, but not hard. He was SO nice and clear with what he wants. He always emails you back quickly. Take him! I got 1 of the 3 A's in class! I'm sure during a normal semester, it would easier to get an A.

Devito assigns a workable amount of homework and essays (not copious), so be ready to stay on top of the online course work. The content of the work is on the dry side. Yet, he WILL respond to any question (not kidding) within minutes of emailing him. He is a fair grader if you take the essays and discussions seriously.

The professor gives so many assignments it is a miracle I was able to complete it all. In addition to the array of reading and weekly discussion assignments, there are touch quizzes which are not passable if you did not understand the weekly readings. There were four major papers due in addition to McGraw-Hill Connect ebook Writing Matters and the

I took Devito online for 102. He is an amazing teacher and is always wiling to help students whenever they get stuck. As this is an online class, beware of the weekly work load. You will be assigned at least 3-4 things to complete weekly. However, he provides amazing feedback and is always willing to work with students. There are book quizzes!!!

This class wasn't bad at all. Definitely a really organized professor that was very involved in this course. Consistently kept students with updates on assignments and due dates. Answered e-mails pretty quickly with very good feedback. Always open to questions. As long as you stayed on top of the work, then this class should be a breeze.

Fantastic teacher! Just took ENG 102 online. I only gave him a '3' for easiness because this is a writing class-there is a lot of writing. There are homework assignments 3-4 days per week. The good news: Mr. DeVito answers emails almost immediately. He let's you know when he'll be online, and it's like he's sitting there with you! Very helpful!
