BEST physics professor at UA! Physics is really hard, but Dr. Sarker made it very understandable. He counted your best test twice as much as your worst test. Pretty sure he scaled the final exam. Test questions come straight from in class problems and textbook. DO HOMEWORK. It is a lot of work, but totally imaginable.!

Sarker was my favorite teacher I have had at UA. Physics is a hard class I am not going to lie but Sarker makes it really enjoyable. Gonna miss having him wish I could take him for 102.

He does have an accent but I did not find this to be much of a problem. His test are VERY straight forward and most of the questions come from or are related to examples he does in class. He is also very accessible and nice outside of class. Overall I would recommend him to anyone! Seriously just go to class and do the hw and it is very do-able.

If you attend class, pay attention, write down all he writes on the board, and learn any formulas not on formula sheet, you'll make good grades on the tests. I highly recommend taking him for physics 101.

He is a nice professor, but he would be much better suited for a small class rather than a lecture hall. He speaks softly and his accent can be difficult to understand at times. Writing on the board is often illegible and/or incomplete, and I ended up teaching myself from the book for most of the semester. Generous curve at the end saved me.

Sarker is an alright professor and his accent didn't bother me. There's no attendance or mandatory homework but it's helpful to keep up with both. The tests aren't bad, but he always adds some tricky conceptual questions and the tests are short so if you miss more than a couple your grade will suffer. Do well in the lab and you'll be fine

Overall, nice guy. Terrible teacher. Scribbles across the board that nobody can read. Nothing related to homework. Exams are hit or miss. Not really a good way to study. Bad accent and you can't understand him half the time. Sit in the front, haha. Ended up with a B+ in the class thanks to the other grades. Do well in lab, do the homework.

One of my toughest classes in college thus far. He spends class going over the theory behind all the formulas and rarely covers examples. Has a small curve at the end of the year. Attendance is not mandatory and he will announce when your quizzes are.

One of the best teacher's I've had so far, and I'm sure everyone who bothered to show up to class and keep up with the material will say the same. Sarker draws his lessons and test questions from the book, so while you have to do completely different online hw, do his suggested book problems and you'll get an A. Physics is hard. Sarker is not.

I liked Sarker. He tries to get you to a deeper understanding of the material. the tests are mostly based on the homework and class notes, so its not that bad if you understood everything. but if you come in late, you'll likely be playing catch up the rest of the class time.

He scribbles across the board constantly and it doesn't make any sense. Be prepared to study from the book A LOT and bring it to class so you can follow what he's saying. Doesn't answer homework questions and doesn't explain anything very well.

Terribad. I have A's in every other single science class at UA(Gen Bio 98.4, Gen Chem 99.53, 95 in both labs). Possible the worst teacher ever. Honestly can't teach worth a flip. Won't answer emails or any questions what so ever. Tests aren't hard but he often doesn't even go over chapters that are on it.

Terrible teacher. He is hard to understand, doesn't take homework questions, nd an explanation you can comprehend is minimal to useless because he just continually scribbles across the board. Be prepaed to learn everything with the book on excessive amounts of your own time.

His accent is no where near as bad as any chinese, prof, I've had. It seems like most alabamian's aren't accustomed to any foreign accent. Fairly easy prof according to most senior students. Physics for is a hard subject, and in this university 1/3rd of the 1st years drop out with or without the course.

Very, very hard to understand. I got behind on the material and he's more than willing to help and teach one on one (...but if you don't know what's going on it's not much help). Very confusing as far as following him and all his formulas on the nasty chalkboard.

Very nice. Accent can be a problem. Just pay attention. Works problems well in class. A little problem work outside of class will pay off.

Class is NOT difficult if u study, since the material is pretty straight forward. There is still a scale at the end of the semester. Sarker is extremely nice and I thought he was a pretty good teacher. Very entertaining!
