Comment:

Not the class if you want an easy "A". You get pushed. You need to be entrepreneurial. There is a lot of freedom and runway to take the class out to the real world. Sherman is a force of nature - super connected, really cares about students. Most rigorous class I had at Tufts by far and the most relevant to getting a job.

EPIIC was undeniably the best decision I made at Tufts. Don't try to do all the reading or it will destroy your life. I cannot recommend the course highly enough.

Sherman is a force of nature and he cares about inspiring students and expanding their horizons. EPIIC was, by far, the best college experience that I had and Sherman's energy and emphasis on thinking more than you ever imagined you could made it an unforgettable experience.

don't let that brochure fool you... EPIIC was the absolute worst decision I made at Tufts. Sherman does not care about individuals or whether or not you learn anything. Life to him is one big networking game and you are just a pawn.

Manic, charismatic, deeply affectionate..in EPIIC he created a space in which highly driven students came together & drew from each others' energy to grapple with the BIG ideas & problems. EPIIC w/ Sherman and Heather was an experience that I will never forget -- it was extreme in every way, shape, and form, as is Sherman's teaching. To his credit, he is the hardest-working person I've come across, and his passion for info has no bounds -- inspiring professor w/ concern/compassion for students.

Sherman demands an enormous amount from students, and most are rewarded with a valuable interdisciplinary experience. True - he is eccentric, but his results are undeniable - EPIIC inspires more and better independent research than any other program I experienced at Tufts.

conceited, egotistical, narcissistic, dominant, this man made EPIIC a horrible experience. everyone in the class acted as though he was god's gift to Tufts. Sherman's a gigantic phony.

Worst prof. at Tufts. No background on China (on which course is based), horribly disrespectful to students and peers, and completely disorganized. Not worth taking if interested in learning or going to Hong Kong. Will use and abuse you.

Try to really get to know the man behind the front, the reputation, the booming voice. He may have some wild ideas and he may not always be the easiest person to talk to, but he's genuine. You know what they say; if you can't take the heat...
