Mr Powell is a great professor that is quick to email you if you ever have a question. He provides clear reviews for each tests that were a great tool to successfully pass each exam. If you need this class, take Mr Powell. Great class from a great professor.

Also 'Gives Good feedback' One of his sayings is 'theres no dumb question, just may be a dumb answer.' Tests are hard because you are training your ear to not mindlessly listen to music. There is a book, it was around $160 but you use it for four semesters. its worth the price. Helps to know Key signatures & read staff. Gracious, cares 4 u 2 learn

Mr. Powell is by far my favorite educator I've ever encountered. He is very experienced and passionate about music as well as teaching and making sure students understand the course. His classes are a breeze if you know anything about music. I've had him for all of my ear training classes. Half way through the semester he will test every thursday.

Easy A. You don't even have to buy the book. 2 assignments where you have to critique a concert. 3 tests which he sends you a review that is exactly like the test. And the tests have no specific due date, I didn't do them till two wks before the semester was over and got A's ;) you can learn a lot if you want, just buy the book and actually read it

This was a VERY easy class.We had 3 multiple choice tests with answers that came straight from a review he posted a few days ahead. Also had to attend 2 live performances and write a critique on each and he tells you exactly how he wants it done. He's not the best with timeliness or emails, but does eventually respond. Barely used the book.

Took for online 6wk summer course. The class was very simple and his test reviews & notes are VERY nice. 3 exams and 1 paper over a concert. You don't need to really buy the book. I did not crack it open once. HOWEVER, it takes him FOREVER to respond to e-mails, so you're almost in the class alone. I got an A in the class.

I took the Fall 2011 online course and it didn?t feel like I was online because it was SO EASY. Only 3 tests and 2 papers. He provides the handouts so you don?t need the book and he emails you the test review. I must have spent a total of 5 hours for the entire semester and got an ?A? for this class. Take him!!!

I took the online. Extremely easy! There are only 3 tests and 2 papers. He emails a 'test sensitive' review about a week before each test. For the papers, you just go to a performance and he tells you EXACTLY what he wants in the paper. Each one took about 10 minutes to write and i just read over the reviews before tests. Take him!!

took him for an online music class over fall semester!! Very Very easy!! if you want an easy class and to get an A take him. He has three tests and supplys a review through email that is EXACTLY like the tests so be sure to check you email. Had to write two papers over a musicals but what he wants in the paper is very easy stuff!!!

I took his summer online class. Three tests and one paper. His reviews ARE his tests! I studied a total of .03 minutes and got a 97% in his class. If you can read, you'll get an A. If you get anything less than an A, you should have not graduated elementary school.

Took ITV. Very easy class!! The reveiws are EXACTLY like the test!! Had to attend a concert and write a critique. Easy A - no sweat!
