Comment:
Best class I've ever taken. Prof. Knopp's knowledge of medieval texts is incredible. She's a hard grader and expects her students to put 100% effort into the course. No-nonsense; she might let discussion ramble, but as a very shy person, I still had opportunities to participate in the class. If you love the material, would highly recommend Knopp.

I didn't love the material going in, but her passion for it was infectious. Wonderful outside of class as well. She's a tough grader who expects a lot from you, but she'll also bend over backwards to help you produce the best work possible.

Professor Knopp is very enthusiastic about her subject and while she doesn't expect you to be also, she won't understand if you don't try hard. It's not that she'll be mean about it--it would just never occur to her not to want to learn. She has BRILLIANT insights into the texts and will always get you there too by the end of class. Totally agree with above comment about letting dominant students get out of hand! Is more of a scholar than a professor, but very kind, helpful, sharp.

Comment:
She knows tons of fascinating stuff about medieval literature, which is a subject most of her students are unfamiliar with, making it all the more interesting. Quirky, and a bit didactic, but altogether good.
