Comment:

Super hard grader. Expected our French to be perfect & she deducted points everywhere she possibly could. Lectures are confusing and Powerpoint slides are super messy so don't even try to study them. Calls out students in class, if you have social anxiety stay away from her. Smart respected woman, there for extra help, taught myself the material.

Comment:

Prof had nice personality but was not good for this course at all. Class was bad, poorly organized and she had no knowledge of the material. Were suppose to have 5 quizzes and she only ever gave us 1 which had a failing average leaving many with bad grades. Material was badly explained, lectures were impossible to follow. Never said what to study:(

I've taken several classes with Dr. Beaulé and she is easily the best prof I've had in all four years at SMU. She will help you improve and reward you for your efforts; she cares more that you learn the language than she does about grading you harshly. Sophie's a wonderful prof and an even better person. Take her class if you have the chance.

She is so nice and sweet. She will do her best to help you get a good grade. She will give second chances, if you don't do well on an assessment. She will implement funny ways to teach difficult concepts in class.

I really enjoy having SB as a professor. She is very intelligent and sometimes a tough marker but her feedback helps you improve, and she is energetic enough to keep me awake every class. I am taking more classes with her and recommend her as a professor.

Sophie is an amazing prof. She makes learning so much fun. She is very tough marker when it comes to grammar and spelling, but she provides so many opportunities for students to gain extra marks and is always willing to meet you or respond to e-mails regarding assignments. Her classes are often hilarious and she loves to listen to french music.

She is so energetic and funny at times. She can be a little "all over the place" but overall she is a very good prof! She makes the class fun. She is a tough grader though I'd have to admit. You have to earn your grades in this class, it doesnt come easy. She is a very nice person! I do recommend her :)

She's is definitely an energetic prof. If I had half her energy at 830 in the morning as she does I would be a better person. She is very easy to talk to and she has a sense of humour! Not a bad choice. I ended up with an A after not really putting in much effort.

She was amazing. All the french teachers I'd had before were not actually French and that alone made a world of difference. She's really quite happy to help if you ask! I know she's dissapointed I'm not taking French again but I refuse to take it unless she's the one teaching it! (I see her in the city all the time and she always says hello :) )

Comment:

She's a hard marker, but very nice and energetic. Be sure not to make silly mistakes on things you hand in, she likes good grammar. Her classes can be very interesting and she encourages class participation which is nice. Midterms and exams can be brutal (they're mostly short answer, depending on the course), but study hard and you'll do fine.

I must say when Ginette Richard left I didn't think I would find anyone as nice as she was until I met Dr. Beaule. She is helpful, nice, sweet, funny, smart and everything else a good teacher should be. She puts so much into her classes, you feel like you should applaude at the end of each one:)
