I feel like she's not given a fair shake on here. If you just do what she tells you (she's more than happy to explain anything you're confused about) then you'll succeed and get an A in her class. I was intimidated at first but she has been one of the best professors I have had. 2 group projects, 1 midterm and a portfolio. final was a group project

A big term project divided into parts due weekly, 15/20 hours of service learning through Reading Partners, a group project, 2 midterms, and a dozen "mini" points (in class & online discussion posts) make up your grade in this class. NO FINAL EXAM but there is another group project. If you go to class & actually listen, easy A. Just do the work.

Doesn't explain anything, notes are disorganized, doesn't answer questions, general jerk, assignments make no sense unless you email her and ask about every aspect, talks too fast, and on and on and on...

Definitely one of the tougher professors on campus. She knows what she is doing and expects you to know everything before going to class. There is a HUGE term project that is done in sections, so you'll be turning in papers every week. My piece of advice, be on top of your work. Go to class, she has in class activities that can really help you.

She is very unclear on the assignments. you have to write a lot and turn in papers every week. She is not flexible at all, she doesn't care if you didn't understand, she said "ask your classmates."

Took O'Donnell for CHAD 150 and 151. She's a no nonsense Professor. Don't come to her with excuses, you won't get far. Get to know her, I can't emphasize that enough. Come to class, or you most definitely will not pass. Assignments are straightforward, expect group projects. Get to class early, she remembers faces and names. Take notes.

Extremely harsh grader. For a class where every test and assignment is a short answeressay style, there are absolutely no right answers. You either write the answer she wants, or fail. There's no room for debate or half points. Effort means nothing in this class if you don't "get" it.

If you follow the directions on all assignments, you will earn a decent grade because she is very clear about what she wants done. I wasn't the biggest fan of her 'professor' personality but I only tolerated her rude and condescending attitude towards students because she was an easy grader. She is much more pleasant during office hours or emails.

I absolutely loved this professor. She is very intimidating in the beginning, but if you participate and sit towards the front, you build a nice relationship with her. She is very sassy when it comes to stupid questions, which is hilarious. Be on time and pay attention, and you wont have any problem with her. She can be hard, but you learn a lot.

I really enjoyed her class! She has a no nonsense attitude which I appreciate. If you show up and do the work you will pass. She sets aside time at the beginning of every class to explain assignments and answer questions, so be on time and ASK her questions if you are confused! If you wait to the last minute she won't help you at all.

Love how sassy she is - does not put up with ridiculous questions, comments, or behavior by below average students. She is crystal clear in explaining assignments and course concepts. Shares videos and funny stories to relate to course. Beware, she may not get to know you unless you stand out to her (did not learn my name until 2 semesters).

Worst teacher I've had. She is very confusing, unclear, condescending, hard to approach. I would have liked the class but she made me dread going to class. She is a pretty easy grader if you can figure out the confusing directions by yourself. She is no help. You teach yourself in this class.

This class is so hard. I ended up with an A- but that is only because I worked my butt off. You have a paper due basically every week that has nothing to really do with the material. The only good thing about this class is that you dont need a textbook. This GE class is harder than my upper division classes. Do not take.

Comment:
For a GE class it is too much work for a single class. You must read "research articles" for the assignments she gives. She's not very helpful nor is very clear on the assignments. She asks for one thing in the prompts but says a different thing in class. Do not take this class if your not in the major, you will regret it.

I recommend you stay away from this class. At all costs. There is TOO MUCH reading for a GE class and she makes it a tough. She doesn't really help much and often leaves you in the dust. Hard grader as well. STAY AWAY. 20+pages of reading with several, NOT one but several documents of research. Not fun.

Even though she may come off strong to some individuals, Prof. O'Donnell is up front and no nonsense type of individual. She makes everything very clear. Recommend to see her during office hours, follow her rubrics for assignments, and attend each class.

Professor O'Donnell may seem intimidating at first, but she is a great lady and is very passionate about what she teaches. Listen to lectures, participate in class (which isn't hard to do because she has fun movie clips and activities) and complete the work, you'll do fine! Not a hard class.

The requires a lot of work but prepares you well for the CSET. Her sarcasm and attitude towards students often discourages people from participating in class. The course is well organized so you know what to expect from the beginning of the semester. Ignore her patronizing attitude, follow her rubric, and you will pass.

There are days this professor can be nice and helpful, and there are other days she can be sassy and condescending. Her assignments are straightforward & very specific. Just follow directions & read the rubric very carefully & you'll be fine. Study for her tests early! She likes to show lots of video clips in class. You can easily get a B or an A if you keep up with assignments & everything else.

I have taken this professor for a couple of Chad classes. Yes, at times she can be intimidating and condescending but don't let her personality discourage you from asking questions and sharing stories in class. She responds to emails and grade papers very quickly. The assignments are straightforward and as long as you follow directions very carefully you will do fine in her class. In this class, she likes to show videos in class.
