Love Prof Hallock! Being passionate about poli sci def helps for this class, but even if you go in knowing nothing about politics she will inspire you. The tests were reasonable and all the other assignments are easy points if you try. I wish I could take her again :(

My favorite professor. She can be tough on the grading front but it's always to make you a better student. Easy to access outside of class, where she is very helpful, especially if you're a polisci major.

I struggled with this class because i am not a huge fan of politics- so i was not educated on many topics. However, she was an amazing professor and was always so bubbly and eager to talk about current events and debates. She made class easier for those who were not into politics.

Dr. Hallock is easily one of the best professors at HCC. She really cares about the students and is willing to go the extra mile to assist them in anyway possible. If you are someone who doesn't like political topics, take her! She will make it enjoyable for you!

Very good teacher. Definitely knows what she's talking about. VERY IMPORTANT: you must be up to date on current events. I personally don't like politics so I suffered a little because of that. She made me appreciate politics more. There is a code you need for online. DO NOT BUY THE CODE IN THE BOOK STORE. It's cheaper to go straight to the website

Dr. Hallock is easily the best professor I've had at HCC. She's very inspirational and always is ready to tackle some interesting/difficult subjects. Her opinion may be a bit to the left, but if you have a differing view SHE LOVES TO TALK ABOUT IT.

It may just be because I love history, but I was so enthralled by her lectures. She's also so gorgeous and intelligent that I am thoroughly intimidated by her. In a good way. She says to space out the journals and its not a joke. Don't spend 8 hours doing it last minute. I did that twice.

Your main grades are "Thematic Journals" due twice in the semester (one at midterms and one at finals) and two exams. The T. Journals take up a decent amount of time, so when she says space them out over the course, she means it-- it will really help. Her lectures are always beyond informative. She knows what she's talking about; she wrote the book

Hands down the best professor I have ever had. She is extremely knowledgeable about the material and cares about all of her students and answering questions they may have. She is a fabulous mentor as well and is great to talk to about current affairs.

I took her for 20th century world history and she was great! She really knew what she was talking about and was super enthusiastic about the subject. However her class was pretty difficult. The book is an absolute must to read, considering she wrote it. If you study hard and do all your work you'll do fine.

There were many online assignments to complete outside of class. I also did not find class time used well. Instead of spending time teaching us about the import terms she planned to quiz us on, she spent the tie ranting about Donald Trump and foreign affairs. Therefore, I did not feel prepared for quizzes. Would not recommend this instructor!

Prof. Hallock is the most enthusiastic teacher I've had in all of my years of school... not even exaggerating. She makes government so interesting and fun. Her tests are short essays and are mostly opinion, so they're easy to pass. Her lectures are extremely clear and interesting. Does give a decent amount of assignments, but they're easy.

It is a tough online class to take. The work load was very large so if you are going to take this be able to do two assignments a day and a quiz with exams on the weekends. Tough class with a lot of info

I had her for American government and she was amazing! Totally enthusiastic about the subject and a genuine down to earth person. She made a 9:25am class a lot of fun. Her assignments were not super complicated and she's not a tough grader. I would recommend her to anyone.

She is hands down the best teacher at this school and one of the best, if not THE best, teacher I've ever had. I would recommend her for every HCC student who needs to take a general social science class. She makes the subject matter easy to understand and infuses her lectures with humor. She gets all the students excited about politics.

I had an interest in history prior to this course, you did not learn much besides listen to her speak for 70 minutes. You go thru about 3 slides a class. Most boring class Ive ever taken.
