Mr. Downing is a great instructor, but I highly don't recommend taking his courses online. In class learning is beneficial for a better understanding of microeconomics, so I strongly advise that no one take the online course.

I took Mr. Downing for micro, macro, and another business class that he teaches. You really don't learn all that much in his class but if you are opinionated like I am you argue a lot with him. Really he makes really boring classes entertaining.

I had Downing for Microeconomics a few years ago. I took the online course, so I never attended any of his lectures. However, he always provided prompt feedback, was highly enthusiastic about the subject, and offered to help anyone who needed it...which is more than I can say about some other teachers at DACC. Overall, great teacher.

I really enjoyed Mr. Downing because he did a pretty good job of holding the class's attention through out the entire period in a rather bland subject. Talks a lot, which does a great job of explaing things rather thoroughly.

Mr. Downing is by far my most favorite teacher of all time. He interacts with the students by engaging everyone into a debate just for the heck of it and it usually lasts like 15 minutes! Super fun class if you don't mind him cursing sometimes. The tests are kinda hard, but the portfolio that makes up the biggest part of your grade is super easy
