Comment:

Dr. Ryan was the most enthusiastic and uplifting professor I have had in my 3 years in history. He includes men women and minorities in his curriculum. I was super engaged in the material and I really walked away with a great understanding of history. He is the type of professor that gives LaSalle its great name.

Comment:

Dr Ryan is the best professor in la Salle. He takes his time to make sure he is explaining his lectures to everyone. Makes sure everyone is following the outline he is giving for work, and is personally one of my favorite classes I took. He likes when your active in class too, so make sure you read and give your honest input.

His class changed my life. He teaches things that every informed American citizen should know. If you put in the effort, you won't be disappointed with the results you get. He's very fair and really is one of the best educators at La Salle.

Comment:

A great professor that doesn't ask you to dump your life into the class. You don't have to like history to like his class. Make sure you read/sparknote the book and watch the film though, or you'll be nuked come exam time (see my grade for what happens if you don't). Exams do require a little studying. Very clear about any readings/assignments.

I love Dr Ryan !!! He is the best hands down you will love his class. He is fair when it comes to grading and his test are super easy.! Just pay attention and read the book wasnt hard to comprehend .! You will love him ! I hated history in high school and I gain to love history with Dr Ryan

Dr. Francis Ryan is amazing. His lectures are heavy, but very interesting. Be prepared to write. If you take notes from his lectures, you will definitely pass. Exams are very straight forward. If you zone out, he'll call on you. Concentrate on the paper, he's very meticulous about writing. Ask him anything you don't know, the man knows his stuff.

Dr. Ryan is very passionate about the course material and is really knowledgeable. However, don't take the class if you desire an easy A. He really makes you work for the grade you wish to achieve but you learn so much with him. There are 3 exams and a research paper. He loves to use visuals to enhance the course material.

Dr. Ryan is a great professor at LaSalle University. He is definitely a tough grader when it comes to exams and essays. He only gives 3 exams and a paper. If you do the homework and put work into the class you will pass. If you are looking for an easy A this is not the class, you need to work for the grade. He also makes history fun to learn.

Dr. Ryan was such an amazing professor that even after I had finished my master's, I'd check the course listings so that I could enroll in another class of his (they were always during the day, so work got in the way). I learned a lot and worked hard. He's hilarious, interesting and somewhat self-deprecating (rare for a full professor).

Dr. Ryan is the Bomb. com. I'm one of those people who only loves history IF the right person teaches it, and he's the right person. You can tell that he absolutely loves what he does and his stories will definitely be a source of entertainment... it's like "rational entertainment"(spoiler alert!). 1 paper,3 exams, Take solid notes and study BOOM.

Comment:

In my mind, there are two basic types of teachers: those that are easy but boring as hell, and those that are interesting but difficult as hell. Dr. Ryan is the latter. He's an amazing teacher, the only one I recommend to literally everyone, but his class is a lot of work. More than worth it if you ask me, but know what you're getting into.

He is simply amazing ! The best professor ever. I would take him over and over again. His class isn't easy, it's a lot of notes and detail but soo worth it. You take away so much from this class and him. Only 2 papers, a midterm and final. Participate !!!!! And just be up to date with your notes and you'll be fine. Once again amazing.

You'll never find yourself falling asleep in his class, he cares about the well-being of his students and wants them to succeed. Dr. Ryan is by far the best professor/teacher I have had. He is so into what he is teaching, it makes you want to listen and be at every class. I didn't miss one class because I loved it that much. As long as you study for his exams and find good research for his papers you will get an A. MAKE FLASH CARDS FOR THE MIDTERM AND FINAL. Take this class!
