One of the best professors Ive ever had. He explains every reading he assigns, encourages class discussions and truly opens students minds on different ways of thinking. He is funny, easy to talk to and an amazing teacher.

Kelts is my favorite college professor. Be ready to listen and take notes. He is always willing to answer questions or chit chat. He perfectly combines historical pieces of writing with modern cases and conflicts. I would take again.

Steven Kelts has been my favorite teacher at NYU. He is clear, patient, and funny. While the transition to online was difficult overall, Kelts managed to make the class even more engaging. I am taking another one of his classes next semester. If you want to do well be ready to take notes and he is always willing to answer questions.

Prof Kelts is the man. Took him for Ethics, Politics, and Public Policy at NYU and he made the material interesting and relevant to current policy issues. Funny dude, cares about his students, and made the transition to online learning due to COVID pretty easy and professional. Only thing is he doesn't use powerpoints, etc, so take good notes!

Kelts has a great sense of humor, makes himself very accessible to students, and is kind and laid-back. Unfortunately, the lectures are rushed, disjointed, and of little actual value.

He was a guest lecturer at NYU and took him for American Constitution. He grades more leniently than his TA's so hope he grades all of you essays. Grades are based on two take home exams and one final essay. Subject very interesting, but 2.5 hours for a class this dense is way too much.

Comment:
Kelts's class is extremely unorganized and so you'll have a hard time being able to sort out your notes for him. Lectures aren't mandatory, so even if you never mention them in your papers you should be fine. Extremely smart guy just dont think his lectures were particularly enjoyable. In the end youll find your class notes to not be of much use.

There are already so many reviews, it's almost not worth telling you to TAKE KETLS. He is wonderful. I'm the kind of student that hates work hates classes, but Kelts is BEYOND worth it. My work in his class is some of my best. I still look back on this class and think, "WOW, what a good class." Kelts is brilliant.

By far the best professor I have ever had at GW. He is going to be big some day. 3 papers, graded relatively easily by a great TA who knows what he's doing and helps a lot. His lectures would be worth going to at any type of day and will change your life. Take any class you can with him. I got an A

KELTS IS AMAZING. It's a hard class but it totally pays off. Office hours are extremely helpful, and the TA is great. Love him. So much. Lectures, while long, are fantastic. One of the best professors I've had yet.

Breathtaking lecturer who makes you enjoy classes on dry political theory. The papers are tough though, not your average regirgiation of info, but that makes the class even better because it's a challenge. Don't take if you're a slacker, leave this class to those willing to work and enjoy it!

I had pretty poor attendance in the class, but every time I attended, it was pretty darn great! I also turned in papers late so I lost a lot of points, but I can still say that Kelts is a great professor...our TA, Bret was great too. Take the course!

I don't really know what the last two reviewers are smoking. Kelts is by far the most interesting and inspiring professor I've ever had. Class was pretty easy too while doing most of the reading. Take this class and you will not regret it!

Basically took the class as a flier my senior year. I wasn't a PoliSci major, so I didn't know a lot about him going in. Very engaging, funny, and smart. Sometimes the subject matter isn't the most exciting stuff in the world, but his obvious passion helps keep your attention. Grade was 3 papers, got A, B+, A-. Highly reccomended.

Professor Kelts is a genuinely interesting and helpful teacher. He gives thoroughly enjoyable lectures and, although his classes are difficult, you will emerge from them more knowledgeable than you would've ever thought. Be sure to keep up with the readings as he likes to see participation in his class.

If you have even the slightest interest in political theory or political philosophy, you cannot leave GW without taking a class with Kelts. He is beyond brilliant, captivating - he's every stereotype of your crazy genius college professor, but way easier on the eyes. He'll make you want to work hard, he'll make you laugh, and you'll love him.
