Comment:

Teaches it harder than most FIN101 professors do. Homework questions are easier than the questions on the test. Also homework is not graded, only for your benefit. Tests are 5 questions in a blue book. Each question is 20 points each, Each part is about 10 points. It is an unfair test for a 101 class. There is also a project at the end.

This class was OK. Take-home midterm, 2 projects and a final. The group project he says he grades easily but be warned, that's not true. He lets you have a cheat sheet for the final (50Q) which is 70% of the midterm questions but with different numbers. Other than the final(he curves), not much work and he lets you leave 45 minutes early

He just read the PPT in class and always got out of class early. If you really want to learn something, I do not recommend him. But for someone, the grade is easy to get because the midterm exam can do at home.

Professor Krull was a very good professor. Homeworks made no sense, but if you truly cared about the work he would know. Project needs a ton of your focus and time, so pick group members wisely. Take home midterm. Final was curved insanely, ended up with an A in the class due to his grading on a competitive scale. Great professor!

Dr. Krull is a master in finance. He seriously knows his stuff. The lectures may get boring but he is a very fair grader. If you aren't a finance major or this class is not required you may get bored and fail.

Avoid Krull at all costs! You MUST buy the textbook if you want to pass. The tests are unreal. His wording is cruel and there is no multiple choice so everything has to be worked out clearly. Partial credit means 3 points out of 20 even if you try your best and get it wrong. My tutor couldn't even help me, and it's just a 101 class! Goodbye GPA.

I agree with the previous comment that anyone who rates him low is an idiot! Attendance is not mandatory but if you think Finance is easy be my guest and skip. For those that care about your grades go to class, pay attention, and do the homework -his exams are very similar to them. The project is Excel based & pretty easy if you're familiar with it

Pr. Krull was just showing up for lectures and followed ppt-files that came with the book. His grading system is forgiving though. I did not do well at the final but because it had only 15% of the total grade, I got A- at the end. Exams are hard, read the book carefully. Definitely, do your h/w and try to get in the top 3 in the portfolio exercise

I did what he required and performed very well in the mid term(90%) and final as I think, but he gave me a C+, my lowest GPA was B in Hofstra. I don't know why he gave me a C plus!!! Dont take this dude!!! Ever!

Krull is the biggest waste as a professor. Incredibly narcissistic and rude. He truly wants people to do badly. Had almost identical grades on everything to other classmates yet I received a lower overall grade, which may very well have cost me graduating with honors. On top of everything, he CANNOT teach whatsoever. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

You guys who rate him that low are idiots. His tests are right from the homeworks, he even copied a homework problem and put it directly on the test!!! How much easier can it be? Just pay attention to the hw reviews. Easy project at the end of the class also.

I thought he was a nice guy. Not the most helpful but I barely did any work in his class for 101 and 132 and I got an A in both. He curves the final grade big time. His homeworks are optional and his tests are usually multiple choice. Only one big presentation with a paper.

I advise all students to stay far away from professor Krull. He buldozes through all chapters in an effort to stay on his projected course. He is unclear, arrogant, nasty, and you can forget about asking him any questions in class. He was helpfull outside of class but by then it was too late for me. Math and formula heavy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is very unhelpful during "his" office hour, as if I was wasting his valuable time for subjects he didn't fully clarify in class. He also has an ego problem, and an uncanny ability to show up late for class but make up the time by keeping us late...DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!

Take VERY detailed notes and study the chapters in the book to prepare for the exam. He gets a bad rep, but I didnt think he was so bad. He curves the tests a lot and my group screwed up the final project and he made us fix it and resubmit it. Tough class but it was second level finance so i expected it.

Good guy, take home mid-term. If you have a brain you can get a decent grade
