dr. shad is a total badass: ask him to tell you some life stories you won't be disappointed. his lectures can be all over the place sometimes but as long as you are relatively paying attention you'll be fine. don't waste your money on the books, i never used them once. also, he says there is an attendance policy (but he doesnt rlly care)

Professor Shad is a very lecture heavy teacher, I took him my freshman year for distribution credits and realized that he enjoys using articles and the textbook a lot, he does several amounts of quizzes consisting current events and as well as reading books outside of class.

This is one of the most brilliant professors you will encounter. Instead of being text based he focuses on real-world status and situation. He is more interested in understanding themes related to the course and ideology of political science/international relations then just comprehending a text. He is also very big on presentations.

Shad is awesome, but I had him for a 2 credit class rather than a full blown 4 credit class. He was really laid-back and chill, and he's actually an insanely interesting person once you get to know him. The only thing is he gave us all the same grade which was a shame, but it's okay because he's Shad.

I enjoyed his classes very much, he gave great lectures and challenged students all the time. He did some gatherings at his home and was able to find internships in great institutions such as the world bank for us.

If you know anything about politics his classes are easy. Just know that the lectures rarely relate to the midterm and final. Plus those two grades are the only ones that matter. Class participation and the essay papers end up being your grade in the class. The papers are graded by the secretary anyways.

Extremely knowledgeable, just doesn't know how to teach. Lectures aren't helpful and his grading is inaccurate.

A TON OF READING.. his lectures didn't help with any quizzes or exams. Very challenging for a intro level course.

While I've heard he's better for upper level classes, In my Intro to Global Politics class he was terrible. If you don't understand what's going on you'll have to do all the work on your own. Most classes were just him repeating the previous nights reading. Quizzes are easy but his midterm and final were both very hard and required a lot of prep.

NOT A GOOD PROF. His class is a waste of time. You get a ton of reading for each class and then he rarely refers to what you read. No tests but the papers are not even graded my him. His aid grades everything. Whatever you get on your midterm is what you get in the class not matter how much "extra credit" you do or what you get on other papers.

Professor Shad is extremely knowledgeable. He also provides a tremendous amount of unique opportunities for his students. His exams are tough and he requires a lot of reading. He doesn't make sure that you are actually doing the reading but it would benefit you to do so. Overall I would definitely recommend him to other students.

Intro to World Politics: If you are the type of student who copies the notes as they are written on the board, just write "Lib" and underline it. That will be the dominating feature of your notes for the semester. The notes will be the same every class.

this prof cares more about his students than most, and the oppertunities he can provide his students are only going to further help them, and they are indicative of how much he cares. you can not argue that his knowledge is outstanding. he definitely knows what he's talking about. yes, he's a little scatterbrained, but he's smart and knowledgable.
