Professor Chalmers is an excellent teacher. She really helps you understand the material, and at the same time she's very nice and understanding. She's also kind of hilarious at times and always keeps the class interesting!

Professor Chalmers is wonderful! She really cares about her students and making things as clear as possible. Her system really helps you learn Italian very quickly, we have assignments everyday and her quizzes basically follow the assignments. I am taking her again next semester. She is very passionate about the language and teaching!

Outstanding professor. Only had her for a couple of classes (switched), but she is a very good teacher. Immediately engages the class in dialogue and helps students understand, not just know the language. A very bright individual who is easy to get along with. Wish I would have taken her class.

I had 102 with her as well. Chalmers rocks: she truly cares about her students and loves (and knows) what she teaches. If you've taken a language class before, you know that it's a lot of work outside class - and her class is no exception. In fact, she's probably a lot more easy going than some of the other French/Italian teachers I've come across.

I took T.C. for both ITAL 101 and 102. She wants every single one of her students to do well in her class and she tries really hard. The class is a lot tougher than I thought it would be, but she explains things very, very well. Lots of outside work, but it's worth it, in my opinion.

Professor Chalmers isn't easy but she is very straightforward and helpful. Eventhough quizes and exams are pretty tough (with some exceptions), if you show up and do homework you have a guaranteed B and an A shouldnt be too difficult.

I had dropped out of ital102 because I didn't need the language credits. When I stopped showing up to class, she emailed me to see if I was okay. I thought that was extremely nice of her. I had her for ital101. She's organized, straightforward, a very good teacher!

Dr. Chalmers is a wonderful teacher, and besides that, a very friendly and approachable person. In regards to the 'busy work' mentioned in the other comments, you can't learn a language without practicing it, duh. Language classes always require some repetitive work.

The class is a bit tedious, but the tests are easy, and she doesn't seem very interested in making the class write essays...which is nice. sometimes she's too quite and lack energy and make the class torturous. easy A

Prof. Chalmers is an excellent teacher... I have learned more in this italian class than I have ever learned in any language course. If you need extra help, she is more than willing to help. If you do the work (which isn't a lot), you will do fine.

Professor Chalmers was great. She was understanding and open-she'd do anything she could to help you as long as you tried to help yourself. I also liked how she put forth extra effort out of class, like emailing us to remind us that there was a total eclipse and to make sure we set our clocks back.

I liked her a lot. She is very helpful and a great teacher who really cares about her students. If you try and put forth effort, you will get a good grade... if you want to slack, don't take her class. She wants students who actually want to learn.

She seems nice, but if she doesnt like the class as a whole, she will let you know. She assigns tons of pointless work and thinks it unheard of if you dont do it. It sounds like she wants to cry everyday during class. Get Moran instead!
