Do not take his class, he is really unclear and it not really helpful. this class is a requirement and i had to take it but i wish i would have dropped his class. His teaching style is a bit uncomfortable.

GREAT TEACHER. He will make you work for that A but gives you all the tools you need. He is very funny and creates a comfortable environment for students. He's not condescending and does what he can to help. My writing has definitely improved. I definitely recommend this professor :)

Comment:

Prof Trasher was available during his office hours. However, Even after struggling a lot with the papers, night after night, he didnt even bother to really help me, camp explaining the same thing over and over again which didnt make sense. Overall, one of the worst professors I have ever had.

I always thought I was a bad writer before taking this class. You have to try in the class to get a good grade but it's not difficult. He made me a better writer by providing feedback. We didn't read much it was mostly just short articles. People made it seem like the class was so hard but they were just lazy. you just have to try & you'll be fine

Comment:

Professor Thrasher is great. His lectures are easy to understand, and he takes the time to answers students' questions. He is also hilarious. My favorite thing about his teaching style is that he makes his expectations clear from the beginning and grades papers in a way that is consistent with those expectations.

His class consists of three big assignments which are three 6-10 page essays. He is a tough grader but he is reasonable. He is willing to help you out if you reach out to him and go to office hours. However keep in mind this is not an easy A. You will have to put crazy amount of work into revising your essays. Be ready to write like crazy.

Very organized and grades things almost immediately - never a question of where you stand. Very concise comments on homework. Some of the assignments are labor-intensive so be prepared to have a lot of homework as the semester goes on. In-class group reviews are helpful. Would definitely take him again. Helpful to have access to color printer.

He's a great professor. He's really laidback and cool. The class itself shouldn't be too hard, just make sure you do everything and try. I really enjoyed him. There are three big essays outside of class but he's a reasonable grader. I wouldn't say it's an easy A but you will pass if you put in at least some effort.

This class isn't an easy A, you need to work hard for your grade. Thrasher gives good feedbacks and during class he goes over what's expected on the essay. I definitely recommend to use all your sources in order to pass. I started off with an F but towards the end my final grade was B.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EASY A!!!!!!!!!! This man grades extremely hard for your desired grade and shows no mercy. IF you are already taking this class, then start going to the writer's resource lab for quality help with your essays. Also, attend his office hours for great help with your writing

This was my favorite class last semester, but it was probably also my hardest. I would not recommend this class if you are just looking for an easy A. Thrasher makes you WORK for a good grade. Be ready for so much writing and tough grading. Overall I do not regret taking this class with Thrasher since I wanted to better my writing.

1 diagnostic essay, 1 in class essay, 3 research papers and the final. Must show up to class and maybe office hours. He thoroughly reads papers and can be a tough grader at times. Overall this class was pretty challenging but hes super cool and fun to talk to.

Thrasher really makes you work for that A in the class. 6 essays in total, 3 of them are 10 paragraph essays. The class is extremely helpful for those wanting to improve and advance their writing, but I do not recommend for those who do not have the best writing. It is easier to pass the class having a solid background in writing and syntax.

HORRIBLE! do not take this class, had my papers reviewed and still received low grades also he does not allow make up work at ALL and drops a full letter grade for small mistakes. His method of grading is very unclear, i do not recommend this class at all.

This professor is awful! Do not take this class. He is rude and a very sarcastic attitude. Your only graded on a very few number of big assignments. If your absent he will not let you make up your work unless you have strong proof that it was a school sanctioned absence. And does not make any exceptions or do anything that isnt inconvenient to him

Professor Thrasher is a SUPER SMART. He cares about grammar more than anything in your essays. If this is your first college English class I do not recommend taking his class. His lectures are so interesting and he tries to help. However, you never know when you will actually get a good or bad grade. GRAMMAR IS ALL.
