Comment:

Vicki is one of the coolest, kindest people. She runs her class with respect for all of her students and it seems more like a group of friends coming together than a class. She is a little disorganized but is an easy grader who will give good feedback when you finally get it back. 2 individual presentations, 1 group, no tests, little homework.

Comment:

Vicki is very sweet and understanding. She always has candy in her office and bag and a smilel on her face. She's very lenient in class and even allows a cheat sheet on every exam. The weekly journal assignments are also easy and fun. Class often got out early too. However, she is a little old fashioned and doesn't allow laptops and phones out.

Vicky is great. She is very helpful in and out of class & she is a pretty lenient grader. She wants everyone to pass so even if she asks you for a 10 page paper and you hand in a 5, chances are she's still going to give you an 80. Still do your work tho, just sayin

CAS is the dumbest class ever but Vicki is really awesome, she always has her candy bag and a smile on her face. I heard she is a harder prof in the major she actually teaches (communications) but CAS is an easy A

Comment:

Professor Karns taught a laid back but informational CAS101. She brought candy every class and was always lighthearted. It was a casual class and I learned some things, but definitely a good pick for this requirement.

Comment:

This is a course called "Social Media" and for someone who doesn't even know how to say Snapchat properly or use Twitter she definitely had some nerve teaching this class. Assigns blog posts but is extremely unclear about where to post them, etc. Not interesting, not clear, not great (for this course at least). Would not recommend to take with her.

I had Vicki for a one-credit course, CAS 101. I was excited to go to a class once a week. No tests, book or homework. Just three projects that take five minutes. She got to know everyone in the class and gave out candy every class. She is so sweet and funny. She made me so much more comfortable here at Suffolk. So happy I took this.

Comment:

Love her! She's very lively during her lectures and loves to make sarcastic comments. Tests are essentially open-notes and weekly journals are easy A's if you actually put effort into them. She's strictly no laptopsphones and will call out obnoxious people--but if you respect her, she'll respect you, and she will always help you if you need it.

Online 2 credit class and just enough work for 2 credits. Takes her a while to grade but grades fairly and makes comments. We weren't bombarded with a ten credits of work like some professors like to give.... Weekly comments on blackboard and weekly papers. I learned a lot about leadership. Enjoyed the class.

This class was very interesting and I learned a lot. Vicki is really nice and comments on all papers/homework so you know where you stand and it's not some mystery when you get your grade. No book needed - just PP and readings on Blackboard. This was my 1st class with her but not my last.

Vicki's fantastic - she made a class that I've only heard boring things about - really interesting and applicable to her students! Tests are s little tough, but study and make your notecard and you'll be fine. I'd definitely recommend her.

dr. karns is funny, energetic, and very kind. if you've ever had an advising session with her, you'll see just how sharp she is. wonderfully clear and insightful. she's a lovely person, and a very good professor to work under and get to know. don't mess around with her- she can smell bullsh** a mile away. ;)
