Comment:

She was not a helpful professor to a majority of the class. Very mean and in emails tends to call students out. Was very confusing and did not tell students specific directions to assignments while posting and taking down assignments without notifying the students of her doing so. Was overall poor in communication. unfair grading as well.

Professor Martin clearly cares a lot about the subject and is passionate about what she is teaching but she does not relate well to her students. She is a fair grader but is difficult to approach and her criticism are pretty harsh. If you take her class plan to watch a lot of boring YouTube videos.

A fabulous Professor, helped guide me to decide if i truly wanted to be a reporter. I appreciated and valued her advice. I wish that i had thanked her more and could take more classes with her.

As stated, she is certainly a difficult grader. Not always the most helpful professor. However, this only makes it more rewarding when you've done A-worthy work. Be prepared to step up your game. You can learn a lot from Dr. Martin, she really wants her students to get hands on experience.

Will teach you the REAL basics of Journalism. Doesn't play around when it comes to handing in work but nice lady who knows her stuff. A little wacky and a tad flustered. makes corny jokes but sometimes.you gotta laugh. She's an overall good professor

My first experience with martin was difficult at first she definitely whips you in to a reporter. She structures the class as if you were writing professionally. She is a challenging Prof. and can be confusing at times about what she expects from students but she one of the few Profs who have really given me a idea of the life of a journalist.

Tough grader, but if you put forth the effort, she is extremely helpful. I thought there would be more in class writing, but there wasn't, mostly outside writing. Class time could have been better spent, but she is very knowledgable. Definitely take this class if you have time for it, you'll get more out of it if you don't cram it into your schedul

Doesnt teach much yet grades wicked hard. Unclear on what she expects, and its impossible to get an A, I would not recommend her. Eventhough, she is nice as person, the class is designed poorly and her teaching style has no structure, consistency, etc. Dont take her because youll get a bad grade

Hard grader, eventhough half the people in class are taking as an elective, she makes it seem like we all want to be journalists.She is very smart though, and class has a very good learning atmosphere,she doesnt take**** either. This class is confusing. Not because it is hard but because she doesn't make it very clear what she wants from the students.She contradicts herself a lot. The class is pretty boring, she is very monotone and most people stare at the wall and/or sleep. Run Away from her.

She is tough--and doesn't give a lot of As, but I cherish my A for that reason. She is training people for a very competitive field. Also, her feedback is good,and Magazine Writing does have built-in rewrites. She expects professionalism. Stop whining.
