It is not possible to say in words how boring he is. He should have retired long ago. So boring that never more than 10 students showed up to class, and 30 were present in the final. He still uses his tests from 20 years ago that are available in library. Fair grading, easy tests,a very easy A, but you will learn nothing so it is a waste of money!

I think a pretty good teacher. Everyone on here say that they dont come to class, and then they say the tests are hard. BUT THATS BECAUSE THEY DIDNT COME TO CLASS! What he says in class is what is on the test. Also, if you get the practice tests in the library, and do problems in the book, you should be fine. I have a B for now.

Alright, so I read this before I added him and all online it said not to take him. I thought that I could handle it because I love chemistry. This site was right.I gave up chemistry for a semester. He couldn't suck it all out of me. He lost one of my tests and wouldn't do anything for me. A few kids got A's so it's not impossible. Good luck...

Expect to do a lot of studying on your own. He's difficult to deal with so you need a lot of patience and he throws in random topics during lecture, but he also has a huge curve at the end where he averages all of his classes together to curve it. If you study hard on your own then you should be fine.

He's just too old, he knows alot of stuff, but doesn't know how to explain it. He doesn't completely cover what's on the tests, and it takes him at least 30 min just to do one example problem. At least he tries to be funny sometimes. Overall if you take this class you have to rely on your notes, adn reading EVERYTHING from textbook to pass this cls

As someone mentioned before, Floser's not a bad person and does show little consideration for his students but lacks in covering material that actually appears on his exams. He isn't very clear during his lectures. honestly, I would recommend skipping his lectures, get a tutor, and thoroughly study the textbook.

Honestly, he's not a bad person at all. He makes jokes and tries to be nice. He may even genuinely care about the students... it just doesn't feel like it. The tests aren't representative of the material or the practice tests in the library. And somehow, 80% of my class failed...

Im used to higher math where the concepts are 'closed' and 'neat'. but being in general chem a whole lot of information was just fed to me.overwhelming. he knows chemistry very well but seems unwilling to stoop down to the student's level of understanding, Use his lectures as a guideline but learn by the book. exams are hard but you learn that way

So I love Chemistry. Hands down my favorite subject in school. I entered into a science fair even. Then I get to this class. I changed my major from Chemistry to Business and have given up on chemistry as a whole. If you have any sanctity few this subject please do not take him. Don't make the same mistake I did. He won't teach what's on the tests.

He's quite something. He's not very good at lecturing and his tests are pretty hard, but if you put in the effort, you'll eventually get the grade you deserve. Studying on your own is better than going to lecture!

I failed the first three tests and was horrified, but got better to pass in the end. He knows this is the usual pattern for most students and if you try ?til the end he will encourage you and tell you exactly what you need to do to pass. Remember this is a very intensive class and demands 3 hours after class 4 days a week to do well. LAST PART 4

Most exercises have 3 to 5 parts and you have to get all of them right (and in the correct order) to get the right answer. HE DOES GIVE PARTIAL CREDIT for the math and not just the answers. If you do the work for both the labs and the exams you will pass the class. PART 3

The lectures could have been better on some complex subjects (balancing oxidation-reduction equations), but for the most part he keeps it simple and clear. The trick to passing this class is studying every day by knowing the steps to all the exercises. PART 2

He is a fair teacher for a very difficult class. I know because my wife teaches chemistry as a grad student at a different university. She reviewed his tests and determined that they are consistent with general chemistry taught by her. PART 1

He's late to lecture, and he wastes a lot of time during them, and hardly teaches. His tests aren't hard, but many questions have parts that require a correct answer from a previous part. As a result, you'd expect partial credit, but he doesn't give it. I'm an A student, but I got a C. I actually expected a D. Maybe the labs saved me...

I was lolling when I first heard his voice but eventually got used to it. Everyone fails the first test but you can drop 1. Be sure to STUDY A LOT. Do the problems at the end of the chapter, form a study group, don't be afraid to ask him questions. He's a goofy guy and his tests are hard but he tends to grade less harshly near the end of the sem.
