Comment:

She is a very nice individual, although as a professor I wouldn't recommend taking her class. I came in thinking it would be a fairly easy class and it turned out to be the total opposite. She reads from the Powerpoint and her tests are strangely different from the powerpoint. I would take someone else.

Comment:

I think I may have attended this class 3 or 4 times the whole semester. It was a friday class. I hardly ever went and still passed with an A. Your entire grade is based off of 3 tests. No homework or extra assignments. She posts all of her powerpoints online at the beginning of the semester. Tests are fairly easy.

I was excited to take her because she received such great ratings, however I beg to differ. She did crack some jokes and she was great as a person. However, as a professor, she was quite boring. It was extremely difficult to listen to her lectures as she was pretty monotone. She was pretty helpful though when it came to answering questions.

Do not buy the book, she puts all of the powerpoint online, and just study off of that. She is a nice teacher, and seems very care free. However, her lectures bore me to death.

Professor Birky is an outstanding instructor. Her lectures are engrossing, as she teaches with a wide variety of techniques. She's very approachable and is incredibly accepting of various perspectives. As long as you do the work and pay attention, this is an Easy A. Great class!

I thought this class would be easy. It wasnt. Her tests are confusing her answer choices are A.b and c only, or B. none of the above C. All of the above, D. A only. An A in the class is a 92.5(ridiculous) A B is 89.99. She literally will not give you the higher grade. And she will never let you out early. No roll taken and she tries to make jokes

This professor is super quirky! Although she has a lot of energy and seems pretty nice, she is weird about the use of electronics in her class, and eating "crinkly foods". She will stop lecturing and stare at you until you put the offending item away, even though my lecture hall was like 200 people. She is a good professor though, I recommend.

Many small assignments that count a lot for your grade. Attendance was mandatory for this professor, she hates when you eat, text and arrive to class late because its disruptive to her while speaking. It can get awkward while speaking to her so you should always go to her office hours if you need help. Recommend this class for Sci majors.

She's a nice teacher a little strange but very nice. She really hates late work it's best to do it on time. Class attendance is important because there is turn in work everyday. Shes not really helpful because she changes her answers a lot. Overall it's a good class if you do all your assignments you will do well

This is a very easy class. However, there are a handful assignments to turn in and participation is a must! So don't expect an "easy A" if you don't show up to class. Show up! She hates when people are late and like many professors she hates when people are texting in class and will call you out. She's very friendly and is very helpful. Take her!

Very easy class for science majors who need to get lifelong learning req. out of the way. Show up to class, you have small assignments which make up about 30-40% of ur grade as participation. She gets kind of annoyed if ur late and will call you out on it. Mostly busy work nothing difficult. Helpful class! I would recommend

Super fair teacher. Quirky, but nice. Easy class if you put in a couple of hours a week - impossible if you wait til the end! PPTs right out of the book, and winnowed down to what will be on the test. Even so, it's a LOT of material. Three tests, 8 chapters per! I found the online "Mastering Bio" homework really helpful. Recommended Prof.

VERY SIMPLE CLASS. SHE USES LOTS OF DIFFERENT TEACHING TECHNIQUES: POWERPOINTS, YOUTUBE, TEDTALKS, LECTURE, DISCUSSIONS ETC. INTERESTING COURSE CONTENT, DIDNT OPEN THE BOOK ONCE. THE TESTS ARE EXACTLY OFF THE STUDY GUIDE SO START THEM EARLY AND GET THE ANSWERS OFF THE POWERPOINTS THAT SHE POSTS ON MOODLE! TAKE HER FOR SURE!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

good choice for UDGE.extremely easy for me. i only studied the PPTs and study guide the night before/day of exams&i was in the highest-scoring category for exams.average is about B-orC+ (she gives you the breakdown after each exam).not a difficult class to pass, but easy to get an A if you are smart and/or if you put in work. recommend to anyone.

easiest UD course ive taken.3 exams (no official final) NOT cumulative.exam 1&2 are on moodle, 50 questions with 1hr15 mins to finish.3rd exam is in class.has a minor participation grade, so attendance indirectly counts.class sessions spent with class discussions and PPT presentations(which are on moodle).interesting class,easy exams. recommended!

Reads directly off her powerpoint so there's no point in going to class, except she has in class assignments on random days which forces to attend. 3 tests only 50 questions but over 8 chapters each. Really boring and weird lady. Her study guides don't help since it basically says to know all the chapters, so just keep up on reading.

It didn't help much going to lectures because she reads the info directly from the ppts which are online. To do well in this class, you really have to just study on your own. The book isn't really needed. On the bright side, she grades on a curve.

Not the worst, but most definitely not the best professor. Reads directly from power points during lectures (which are copied and pasted from the book definitions), and doesn't add more than that. Class can be boring, and she doesn't help you review for tests.
