Do your work and you'll pass. Listen to her feedback and you'll receive an even better grade. She's big on having you understand the material, so be ready for homework and reading quizzes. If you want an easy/no effort A, then she's not for you. If you want to learn and be challenged, take her. She's a great professor with a heart for her students.

She makes everything a lot worse than it has to be. Your work has to be perfect to the "t" in order for you to get a good grade. She is very strict about citation, and a little mistake will get you an academic dishonesty charge, or if she even thinks you cheated. Overtime, if you do better, she assumes it's not your work, which is very rude.

I only have 350 characters to describe this woman? Wow. I HATED HER CLASS. Some advice: buy the textbook; you'll def need it. She roasted a girl in my class because she didn't get hers in time, and the girl dropped. Second, with essays, you should write down ideas she says in class. If not, she'll flat out say she disagrees. Idk how I passed.

Don't let the first few days or weeks with her scare you away! YES, she's difficult BUT she truly cares about you! She tries to scare you away within the first few weeks so that you know what you're up against and have the ability to drop the class. She IS hard but if you go to see her outside of class and participate you will pass, A's arent easy!

She's overall a good professor. An A isn't easy but it's not impossible. Work hard, stay focused, ask for help, CITE PROPERLY, and you will be fine. She's huge on plagiarism (even if it was an accident) so be sure to reach out to avoid any trouble. No midterm or final, just essays.

Professor Nielsen is okay. She's not a bad professor by any means and she's very passionate about what she teaches and she knows a lot. Her class is a bit hard, so definitely do all of the work. Also go to all the classes because if you exceed 3 absences you're done for.

She's very passionate about what she teaches she is just under the impression that we're as passionate too and we're not. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HER FEEDBACK. Grading criteria is so confusing, especially with papers, but she tries to help as best she can. Very sweet and wants her students to succeed.

If you wish to learn something in a comfortable classroom setting that mixes lectures with group activities, you will definitely enjoy your time with Dr. Nielsen (if you want to play on your phone in the back of the room, she's not for you). Her kind personality establishes a relaxed atmosphere and she goes above and beyond to assist students.

Professor Nielsen is erudite but awkward and verbose. She is highly critical of innovative approaches to her assignments, preferring instead that students regurgitate material in accordance with her (often unclear) guidelines. You can usually reach her for clarification or help if you're struggling. Beware of disagreeing with her.

Wendy is so cute and helpful, so long as you ask for it. Email her and do it often. The online class has a lot of weekly postscomments, but it's a great grade saver. Some of the essays were pretty troubling had confusing topics, but overall not horrible. The last essay (a revision relation to world issues) totally saved my grade.

Easily one of my favourite professors of all time. Brilliant and dedicated, she is extremely qualified. Don't take her if you just want a class where you can sit there silently and be handed an A. She doesn't like her time being wasted, and rightly so. But if you are willing to apply yourself and engage with the work she will teach you a lot.

Nielsen was a very tough professor. Her tests were often wordy and confusing, and it seemed like she only wanted to see answers she liked, or else she'd give you a C. Despite her often confusing open-ended test questions, she didn't take effort into consideration. If you attempted to answer the question, but were totally, off, she'd give you a C.

Wasn't fond of her. LOTS of reading, boring books. There's 5 books in total that you have to read for the class, and she doesn't exactly help you with the essay test she gives. It requires you to respond to this specific question, but she doesn't allow students much margin. Test questions are often wordy and confusing too.

I took her for an online class and she was horrible! She was rude to the students and told almost everyone that they didn't prove to you that they read the book. For an online class she is expecting too much and isn't helpful at all. She deducts points per discussion board all the time. HORRIBLE. I highly suggest not to take her.

i thought the class was gonna be great She seemed really nice and reasonable for the most part. She seems to grade not based off of logic but rather if you write according to her OPINIONS. I got B's on every assignment and then for the final paper she gave me a D! Resulting in my final grade as a stinkin C! Wont take her again! Kinda controlling

Prof. Nielsen is very understanding and interesting woman. She loves it when the class participates. Three essays, lowest grade was dropped AND I was given the chance to rewrite the essay. No Midterm, only a take home final essay. Aprox 100 pages to read per week. All essay topics are thoroughly discussed in class.

this professor is horrible. this class has 2 professors and with the other notes the other professor talked about in class, Nielsen told me to talk to them about it not her, and her clarity doesn't help.

I personally hated her. She assigns you tiny assignments but gives you such a strict time to submit it online. As a full time student and worker, I posted late a lot and was deducted for it. She wasn't willing to work with me on a time, she can't accept other peoples opinions on the work, and I learned nothing in this class.

I really did not like this professor. Her class has far too many little assignments, and she really doesn't actually TEACH anything other than facts about the book you're reading. She cannot seem to run her class without her computer. I think she comes off arrogant; she doesn't accept others' opinions openly. Class discussion is underwhelming.
