William James SHANGO! This man does not just correct your paper, he makes you think outside the box. The students that rate him low most likely have a hard time with this process. He is an awesome teacher with a gift he shares with his student. It is much more than books to him. He helps student's look at the BIG picture making them better people.

Didn't receive a syllabus until the second week of class. By then it was too late to drop the course. Never receieved half the papers I wrote b/c he kept putting off grading them. To this day I don't know what I got. The other grades came too late to improve on future assign. He wouldn't talk about students grades at any time, he made that clear.

Well James is overall a good person. He teaches pretty well. As long as you show up EVERY class and turn in your papers you will do fine. Yeah the subjects of the papers are weird; as long as you write a paper kind of towards the subject you will do fine. Make sure you are there in class. He is fun but can be hard and unclear at times.

So far in my ENG 226 class Mr. James has been pretty entertaining. I don't understand why everyone has given him such low ratings. He's eccentric and fun, his class is straight forward and he obviously loves his job.

He is the worst teacher I've ever had. He was always 15min late and sometimes he left in the middle of class for 30min. He also cancelled 3 classes. I didn't learn anything new because when he was in class he just talked about random ethnic issues. And watch out what you write about he grades on the topic, not your technique.

Definetly an easy A class! Only 4 papers all semester. I went to class once every other week and still got an A on every paper. Honestly, the class sucks and is extremely boring but theres not much work and he doesnt care what you write about he just wants everyone to be creative. Also dont buy the textbook its a waste! I never used it once!

Not that he does not mean well, but he ends up being very ineffective at teaching because of his poor communication habits. A little self absorbed and always talks about his personal accomplishments. However, very interesting person outside of class and actually has a lot to teach people about life in general.

very distracted, unfocused, biased against white students, too many racial jokes, too biased and racial throughout class, doesn't concentrate on the material, hard to understand the assignments, not willing to set time aside to talk or confrence with, I would never ever take again!

William is a great teacher! He is an English teacher so disregard the previous comment! The man circles and corrects grammar mistakes in books he read. The students that don't like him are lazy. James was a self-indulgent egotist who seemed more intent on acting like a hip-hop preacher rather than a teacher. He required us to read hip-hop lyrics aloud in order to stay in class.
