One of the best teachers I've ever had. If you don't mind following his teaching style (which is following notes he printed) you will love it. He makes class interesting and has some good jokes. I've learned a great deal from him not only on what we were being taught for the class, but on other things in life as well. You won't regret his class

Every class felt like a waste of time as well as a waste of money. Not only did he get off topic in every single lecture, let us out early all the time, and cancel class six times, he was also rude and insensitive. If you want an easy A, its yours; just show up. If you want to learn something - find a different professor.

Excellent professor, interesting lectures although he can be difficult to understand sometimes. He let us out 15-45 minutes early every single class and cancelled several times. Just go to the class and you'll get an A

If you show up to class you will get an A. His tests (theres just a mid term and final) are straight from his outlines and he reviews, but he's really big on attendance. It's an easy class and you don't need a book, JUST SHOW UP. His lectures are actually really interesting and fun, he's cool! (and he usually lets you out early)

Dr. Zhang is an ok professor. I don't agree with his teaching style I find it to be very unhelpful since it is from a conceptual point of view. He frequently rambles the whole class about other topics that do not have anything to do with the material.

he is awesome! make sure to attend every class and take ALL the notes, you will have 2 tests and a final paper, everything for the tests comes straight off the notes, also don't buy any book because he won't use one, best choice ever to take his class!

Xin Zhang is extremely intelligent, but he has a high opinion of himself since he got his PhD from UChicago. Sometimes his arrogance and ego make it difficult to appreciate him a caring and talented educator.

Best professor at iupui. Tries to make life easier for students. He is very understanding, interesting, and knowledgeable. He does not require a textbook but spends a lot of time compiling lectures so we didn't have to buy one ... Thank god! Love him, he has a great since of humor too!

Dr. Zhang is the best prof at IUPUI. He is an amazing teacher..with a great since of humor...willing to help students...if you go to class and do the work...you will excel....If you are anti social and don't have a sense of humor...then don't take his class...and stop whining ...Best professor of my college career hands down!

Xin has a very unorthodox teaching method that can be unnerving at times. He tell his student to return their books because they will not need them but hold on the "The Human Community" because if you loose where Xin is going the book can bring it in to focus. The class has an easy going atmosphere but do not be fooled, attendence is mandatory.

Zhang was one of the best profs I've ever had. He was extremely intelligent and easy going. Be warned that while his attendance policy is extremely lax, he remembers who comes and who doesn't. Other students rated that he used lame humor - try taking a class with a prof that doesn't even attempt. I had great respect for this man. Would take again.

Overall, I enjoyed the class and the professor. It's important you attend each class for notes. At times I thought lecture wasn't going anywhere, but once I read the text, everything made sense. Interesting teaching style, a little hard to reach outside of class, yet motivational and loves teaching students.
