Terrible prof! She doesn't communicate in English very well, so she sometimes gave unintelligible assignment instructions and feedback. This is not an exaggeration (she posted sentences with syntax so flawed that they meant nothing). She also graded me on two assignments based partly on whether or not she personally agreed with my opinions.

This professor was awful. She was so unhelpful. Her instructions were confusing, and then she graded differently then her instructions. Her tests were easy, but she graded the papers and homework very strictly. I'm a straight A student, and this grade has brought my GPA down. Was hoping to enjoy my summer class, but instead hated it because of her.

This teacher is the worst I've ever encountered. This doesn't mean that the class as a whole was a waste, but her grading is extremely hard, it doesnt matter how long you spend studying and researching, it is never good enough. I've spent up to 4 hours just on researching the forum discussion and I only received 3 points out of 10! Skip this class

Her history of California class is hard but really worth it. You learn a huge amount. But make sure you read the textbook to do well on exams.

Great class but you need to keep up with the reading and the assignments. Discussions are a most. Professor De Luna is giving the questions for discussions earlier so you can prepare but the competition is though. Many students are already graduates and some are teachers themselves.

She is by far the worst teacher I have encountered. Her expectations are not clear and she grades harshly minute errors. She has unrealistic expectectations from students. Just because she has a passion for history doesn't mean the students have to have an equal passion to pass the class. STEER CLEAR of her.

I have successfully lost all interest in learning anything more about CA History. Plan on spending A LOT of time painfully researching essay questions (3-4 per chapter) that may or may not be on the exams. This class is totally not worth the time and energy. Research other instructors prior to enrollment.

She sucks as a teacher. I did not learn anything new about California from her. Names are misspelled so it makes it harder to look for who she's talking about. I wish I never took her class. Tests - she gives you less than an hour for essay questions. Not a good teacher, skip her.

I enjoyed California History a lot. I really enjoyed doing the Student projects - they are a refreshing new way of absorbing the material, and I wish other history classes had done something similar. However, the big minus is that instructions aren't clear, so ask questions about every assignment to make sure you're crystal clear.

If you are looking for a fun California History class, then this isn't it. Yes, she is very unclear on her instructions. With the amount of material she packs into this class, it could easily be divided into two classes. Not recommended.

This teacher sucks. Very unclear questions, VERY unclear grading system. You must have a computer memory to do the tests. Example from my test: "The French showed significant interest in aquiring California from Mexico. True/False" I selected true. It was wrong because the book says "the French showed [i]some[/i] interest in...."

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this teacher! By far the worst professor I ever had. Her grading is extremely unclear and she is rude when you try to ask her questions! I worked very hard in this class, practically memorized the syllabus and project descriptions, and I still couldn't get a decent grade. Good luck getting even a C!
