He's do-able but I wouldn't take him again. Expects from you yet won't tell you his expectations. Was a confusing semester with him and he was no help whatsoever. His exams comes from book and presentations which are okay yet a bit tough. Lecture was boring and he's always off topic. Half the time he's talking about his life & 1900 or whatever lol

If you want to get a good grade do not take this teacher. Class is a joke and the professor does not treat students with respect. Projects are unclear and he will not take responsibility for the whole class failing a project. He did not lecture for about a month, until someone came to evaluate him, where he then threw together a BS powerpoint

His directions are unclear and he is not willing to answer questions. He goes off on random tangents about irrelevant information. He tests you on a ton of material that is not covered in lectures. There are two group projects that last the whole semester and he is extremely harsh when grading. By far, the worst professor I have taken thus far.

Comment:

Spends too much time arguing with the class when we should be going over the material for the tests. We took a test on 4 chapters and we only went over 1 chapter(not just exaggerating to be mean). Not helpful when you ask questions, he gives vague answers like, "its somewhere in the syllabus". His opinions are pretty dated, I don't recommend.

Not up to date with current advertising. All of his examples were from around 1960 which is well before anyone in the class was born. We were supposed to learn about advertising in today's time. I was excited to take this class but after completing it I realized how much of a waste of time it was.

Terrible eacher. He doesn't understand relevant topics. He is a stain on an otherwise solid group of Marketing professors. He is the weak link in the department. Does not add any value to the class what so ever. Attendance is required which makes this class even more awful.

This teacher is the worst I ever had!!! Please do yourself a favor, don't choose any of his class if possible!!! He is unprofessional and talks about his life all the time. His lessons are not structured and are useless. He is not an expert in the marketing field at all.....!!!! It is sad to see such poor quality of teaching at Fresno State...

Wouldn't recommend this professor. Very boring and likes to talk about himself most of the time. Goes off topic often and his lectures aren't related to the tests. Read the books or powerpoints. Attendance is mandatory and he takes 10 points off of your grade if you miss more than 2 classes.

He didn't take role this semester (Fall 13) and most students took advantage of it. If he doesn't take role and a lot are absent he will give extra credit so I would go to class. Exams were tough and lectures did not cover whats on the exam. READ THE SUMMARIES after each chapter and read the powerpoint and skim the book and you'll be fine

This guy is the worst professor that I ever took. Lectures are not relevant to the tests at all, so there's no point in going to class. Study from the book only if you want to pass. He even fell asleep during presentations! He was all over the place with changing due dates. It was a mess, and this guy was to blame. I hope he retires or gets fired.

He is the only teacher for this course so everyone is just stuck with him. He teaches as if we were still in the 80's, so nothing you learn is useful to today's marketing. Test are "out of the book" the final project is confusing and he does not explain it well. Very strict on written assignments.

The subject is not hard, But his grading on writing is not fair. He don't give examples but grade extra hard. He wants really specific things on assignments but don't explain on instructions nor give examples. Don't expect a 100 on any of your papers or final projects.Go to class everyday and still will only get 85/100 on participation points. GL

Hard to believe Canton has negative reviews. He wanted to get to kno each student so we were assigned to come chat during his office hours. We had 4 exams (directly from the book) and we could use 1 pg of notes. His expectations on the 2 major projects were high so get started early. The 'final' was to bring food to class potluck. Great prof!

I think his personality has majorly changed because all of these comments seem really negative. I think he's close to retiring and this semester he was actually a really nice guy. Just show up to class 100% of the time. Tests are cake, he lets you bring a cheat sheet. Was my easiest class of the semester. Easy to pass!!!! Take my word for it!!

Terrible instructor! Not only was he extremely lazy and did little to prepare students for exams or class room exercises/projects but he grades very unfair based on his opinion of what marketing should be, not what is defined in textbook. I recommend taking a different professor for mktg 100s.

I was always there at least 5 minutes before class because attendance is huge with him. If you're nice, positive, and do your work he will treat you ok. His expectations are higher than most professors which is great, but he is not helpful. Does not make learning or coming to class enjoyable.

Boring,self center instructor. He is strict on the group project & what organizations you do. He likes to talk about himself ALOT. He likes to pick on students.Participation is base on talking & attendance. There's also pop quizzes. I didn't like him or class.
