Horrible. Can't explain anything and his demos are worthless. Seems intelligent and maybe this class is beneath him but he just can't teach this course. Labs and recitations aren't bad if you have a good TA PSUKNOWHOW saved me.

very difficult class, but Ben lectures as well as I can imagine anybody can. the phys department makes him stand up in front of 300+ students and read a powerpoint...very difficult to be interesting when you have to do that, and yet his demos are fun. better lecturer than constantino. psu knowhow saved me

One of the worst class I've taken. No point of going to lectures, you'll just get annoyed with his stupid sayings in his monotone voice and clearing his throat constantly. Only hope for this class is liontutors and it still wasn't enough for me. Ok folks its showtime......

worst class I have ever taken. it is very hard to learn physics especially with this teacher. do the practice problems, go to the TA, and Lion Tutors review sessions helped so much.

The lectures are really boring and don't make sense. Exams aren't too bad if you do practice problems and go to a review. I went to the TA's review and lion tutors. This plus studying for 5 hours makes you get an A. The reviews are definitely helpful!

You will never hear someone clear their throat as much as Owen, and it will get on your nerves, so lectures aren't a priority. The exams always have some tricky problems, but overall the class isn't too tough, just make sure you understand the HW completely and you should be fine. Just avoid having to listen to Owen.

Not a fan of his class. He knows his stuff, but during lecture he doesn't sound like he is interested at all. He is very monotone and turns the lights off during class so it is a very easy class to fall asleep in. If you have a choice, don't take this class with Owen.

worst lecturer ever. It's hard enough to learn physics in a lecture hall, but he doesn't help matters. He just talks to hear himself talk and half the time gets off on a tangent about something only vaguely related to the topic or else spends the entire class detailing some useless derivation that no one cares about in the first place.

Hard. Great text. Memorize it, and know all aspects of physics and your fine. Nothin to it. I just got out of his final and the first problem had very very little to do with anything covered in the book. Probably the most absurdly difficult test I've ever taken. I hope next semester's teach is better, I'd hate to not get credit again.

Like the person below said, you'll be teaching yourself quantum mechanics. The book does a decent job, so it wasn't that bad. Be warned, however, that his tests are heavy on concepts.

Professor Owen is clearly a very intelligent professor, but not a terribly good teacher. He has a certain arrogance about him that makes him difficult to like. His office hours are not particularly useful (and in some cases detrimental). Be prepared to force feed yourself a lot of the course. Even so, he tends to be a nice grader. [x,p]=ih/2Pi
