I will not lie, I HATED this class but I earned an A. I would not re-take the course, if I had a do-over because it was extremely anxiety proviking. I will say that he is a timely grader, I wish all professors graded at his speed. Take at your own risk, you have been warned. Btw, HIRE A TUTOR. YOU WILL THANK ME LATER!

It's really an easy class if you follow the instructions, which is where a lot of ppl would fall off. Class is online so you have to hold yourself accountable. Reply to 2 classmates' weekly posts; extra credit if you do 4 total. 3 'major' assignments (attend a concert, interview 2 ppl of ur choice abt music, watch YT vids & do analysis). Take him!!

Professor Lapidus is a great professor. He really cares about his students passing his class. He is really passionate about music. I took this class because it was a requirement and wasn't looking forward to it but I am glad I did. I learned a lot about Caribbean music. There is no midterm or final just four projects. Take him, you wont regret it.

I am so happy I took this class. I needed a music or art, and the ONLY online class available was this one. I do not regret it! One of the best online professors I have ever had. Very clear directions and interesting lessons. I learned so much about the music of the Caribbean, and never thought I'd like it. 3 assignments, discussion every week.

Professor Lapidus is a true star. He genuinely cares about his students and offers many opportunities for extra credit. The class was interesting, as a lot of it had to do with cultural music and its political influences. It is very hard to fail this class. It is an easy A! most of the topics had to do with Salsa, Reggaetton and Reggae.

Overall Professor Lapidus is a great professor. He is very passionate about music and about the material that he teaches. His weekly assignments are not too hard and if you dedicate yourself you will get a good grade. Do not take this course if you are a lazy student and cannot meet deadlines.

Very interesting class! At first it seemed a bit challenging. Professor Lapidus really knows his stuff. He is very educated and is also a well known musician. If you are really interested in learning about a variety of Caribbean music then I urge you to take if, if your looking for an easy A, think twice. Great Experience!!!

He's a great, great professor. I'm so glad I'm in his class. He's given me a new liking to Spanish Caribbean music, something I never used to enjoy AT ALL. He's probably the most passionate professor I've had so far. You can see music is in his blood. The concert report isn't even that difficult its just name what you see and hear basically.

This professor is amazing. If anybody has a problem with this class they are simply lazy. The class is very easy to pass and you gain a great appreciation for music. THIS GUY DEFINITELY TAKES MUSIC VERY SERIOUSLY WHICH IS SAD. HE GIVES LIKE 10 QUIZZES A MIDTERM AND FINAL AND MAKES YOU ATTEND PERFORMANCES OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL AND WRITE 3-5 PAGE PAPERS ON THEM.
