Comment:

I had this professor in 1985, and I found her to be full of contempt for Americans and her students. She bites the very hand that feeds her, and she does not respect those who very desperately want to learn. I am a teacher and professor now, and she is the complete antithesis of how I behave with young minds.

I got an A in her class (France through the ages), but I still didn't like her. I don't think she respects students opinions at all. She'll listen to you say 5 words, and then she'll jump in to give her own long, drawn-out opinion. I thought she was very boring and never found myself interested in anything she said.

she can be horribly mean at random if she decides she doesn't like you, so if you aren't a native french speaker with a thorough knowledge of the topic, keep your mouth shut or you'll regret it.

Dr. Cailler is a very nice lady. She is very enthusiastic about what she does and does well to try to get the students involved. From my experience, she respected all of our contributions, however small, and always added her own knowledge to make this a very interesting and engaging course. Her readings were impeccably selected.

I thought she was thorough and engaging. She expected her students to be prepared and contribute to the lectures. I enjoyed her choice of readings and her anecdotes. She responded to student interest. I think my writing and reading comprehension were greatly improved by her class.
