I took this class during j-term/interterm, so the reading was very concentrated. I really enjoy the class and she made the large amounts of work not seem so awful. She is super peppy and energetic and overall a very good, passionate teacher.

Great stories. Read and stay with the discussion and you will do well. Beulah Baker is energetic and passionate and she just makes you smile because she is so quirky! I loved her class. She really gave everyone a chance to share their opions and grow by reading and discussion American Literature.

Alright heres the deal. Her name is Beulah. Therefore, respect the woman. Or i will find you. And then i will teach you a butt-load about the artist formerly known as W.B. Yeats.

She is just horrible at making her class interesting. She is also a very difficult grader and will give you grief for not writing the paper on what she wanted. My whole class also had a hard time understanding what she was talking about in class and we were never sure what the homework assignments were because she was so confusing.

She has weird quirks that make it difficult to understand her. She is also very good at telling you how you should have written your paper on her topic.

Dr. Baker helps her students outside of class if they ask her. Perhaps her biggest fault is that she is too polite to tell the super long winded students to shut up during class discussion. Also, in her upper level classes, I've found it pretty impossible to not get an A-, no matter how much or how little work I put in.

This class was terrible! I have had past upper level writing experience and I feel like what she was teaching and the papers expected were almost elementary level despite her always saying "collegiate level" papers were needed. This was one of the worst classes I have ever been in but it was also one of the easiest.

Very boring, does not seem to cover anything in class. I don't think I have learned anything just accomplished busy work. Only papers no tests or quizes.

so so boring.. she's really bad at getting class involvement, and that's what most of the class is.. the stories you have to read are pretty good though for the most part. her test are very hard, and you don't get enough time to do them because they are all essay. she's a fairly hard grader. most annoyingly, she goes over classtime EVERYDAY. 5 m

Dr. Baker does not teach ENG 101. And, yes, she does actually expect you to read--imagine! So if you don't read, and you do poorly on the quiz, you have screwed yourself over.

HARD TESTS -- ALL ESSAY. Quizzes will screw you over if you don't read. Quizzes will screw you over if you do read. She's not very helpful or understanding unless you do well in class. Anything you read is FAIR GAME. Even the footnotes.
