Great professor. To those who are concerned with the difficulty level, you should know that if you're taking his classes (all on law) you're going to be in a room with a bunch of kids interested in going to law school. In this light, he's not so much hard, he just expects a minimum level of background knowledge on the parts of his students.

I took 351 and 352 and I'm obsessed.. he is the best teacher ever. I've never had a prof push me so hard or expect so much of his students, but it's SO worth it!!!

Either you love him or you hate him and I'm not a particular fan. He thinks very highly of himself and expects far too much from his students. He red-inks your paper mercilessly. While the content of the course was interesting, I don't feel that the class is worth taking because of the hoops he makes you jump through.

He has a very demanding way of teaching, but it causes you to think and really analyze your own views. He questions what you say and is not very partisan when he does so (though it is obvious he is decently liberal). Really enjoyed my experience in this class but it's HARD so be prepared.

Grad level Legal Problems class. Lots of reading, great discussion. 2 5 page papers and a 10 page final. You must really put your all in the papers he grade extremely hard, and red inks your writing. You leave the course a much better writer and thinker.

Pretty difficult material, but Pinaire makes it a very worthwhile class. For you law school types, he issues the disclaimer this is the anti-law school course - but you will learn one hell of a lot if you do what he asks.
