Dr. Zapata was a great teacher, she is very passionate about foundations even though I find it boring she made the class bearable. Go to class she will randomly call on people for attendance!

Comment:

Great lecturer, loves what she studies and encourages students to come and view her lab. She gives out little homework, but they are essential for learning and doing well on the exam. I recommend doing the homework early since some of the quizzes are based on it, same with the exams. She also randomly gives out extra credit. She does Not curve.

Comment:

Good person, cares about students. Course covers SO much, ends up disjointed. She tries to make it easy by broadly discussing vague concepts (eg teamwork, decisions) but with so much info on slides and no book, it's hard to know what's important. Final was a total crapshoot. Stay on top of your team and put in effort on assignments for a doable A+.

Biggest waste of time in my life, but hey easiest A+ of my life. I fell asleep every class period, plus failed both the midterm and the Final but still got an A, I pulled that off by all her Extra credit and doing very well on all the design projects. The class is really a waste of time.

boring and pointless class. She has a thick columbian accent. She is nice and gives a lot of extra credit, EASY A. She requires attendence, but seldomly takes attendance. Overall, good teacher, easy A, but pointless material.

if you are looking for the most pointless class you will ever take, congrats, you found it, thhere is absolutely no point in taking it. Not only that but she doesnt teach well at all, all you do is read the book the night before, and then review everything you read in class. Bring a laptop, or else you will kill yourself out of shear boredom.

She can't even do her own problems without the book on her hip. Don't expect her to work out problems correctly in class. Very unclear. Strictly by the book. Plus her grading system is totally unreasonable. And the grading is harsh. Do not take her class!!! Nelson is better for statics.

The test usually covered matterial that hadn't had homework assigned yet, so you had to do it early. Working in groups is the best way to get everything done, but know how to do every problem yourself. She's average compared to the other statics professors, so good luck. She gives out a TON of EC
