Comment:

Spent most of the time saying this wasn't a "Mickey Mouse" class and you had to earn your grade or how he didn't have enough time to go over everything he wanted to. If he get to the point, he would have time to go over everything. He tells you the first day not to buy the book. Overall the class was an easy a. Lecture is worth 2/3 of the grade.

Great guy! He loves epidemiology and wants you to do well. His jokes are funny and he makes your time in class worth while. Test questions are straight from his lectures and mostly fill-in, so don't buy the book. And don't miss class!!!

This was the worst class I have ever taken. He never talked about Bio. It was always about how he doesn't have time to teach and how much he cares about us. If he would stop that he would have plenty of time to teach.

I believe in personal responsibility for my own grades. I attended every lecture this semester and took diligent notes, and still only got a "C" in the course. Rockett had no out of class review sessions and the in class ones were brief and vague. He doesn't relate to the textbook so don't even buy it...

Long winded speeches that he says very little. He repeats himself constantly. Example: "It is really important that you know this, this is essential to the class, I really want you to know this so you can do good on the test, I car that you do good on the test, I shouldn't care so much about you doing good on the test but I do, pollution is bad."

Lectures are a joke. Spent very little time teaching anything that was actually on the exam. Doesn't use a powerpoint, just rambles on about stuff he's interested in. Gives no study guide and the exam review sessions are worthless. Also has a very boring southern, hickish accent. The lab grade will help you but DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY FOR BIOL 101!

AMAZING teacher! He's really concerned with you doing well in his class, and understanding the material. I really hate science, but I would highly recommend Rockett...he def makes it an interesting class, and has a good sense of humor. He also cusses a lot.

If you do not like southern accents DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! I can't stand listening to them for long periods of time. He talks slow, which is good if you have a hard time keeping up, but he spends forever talking about what he wants to talk about and then never gets around to actually teaching it. Go to all the lectures and don't buy the book.

He spends so much of the time complaining about how he doesn't have enough time to teach that he gets behind ! Fun teacher, decent lectures, he really presents problems of today and is on top of current events. He's clearly concerned about the enviroment. Book is totally useless, lecture based 30question bubble exams

Nice guy but not very organized for lectures. Doesn't use blackboard at all and uses the overhead to handwrite notes as he goes, so a bit old fashioned. Don't miss out on notes, you will need them.

What everyone else said. He's a nice guy and entertaining. However, he's not a very efficient lecturer-- when he actually gets around to saying what he's going to teach, it's interesting. But just as much of the time is spent in leading up to it, which gets kinda old! And the book will be truly useless. Really. It's ALL from the notes.

he's a great professor but you have to come to class everyday or you'll be complete lost, so make a friend in the class if you plan on even missing one day. the book is completely useless and he even tells you not to buy it. the test are all fill in so make sure you really know your stuff.

Don't buy the book, it's all from his notes. Try not to miss any lectures, but he tends to repeat himself so if you miss one day he tends to help you catch up the following class. It's not a hard class but not easy either.

Easiest class i've taken. Don't buy the book, I didn't and got an A on each exam. Hilarious guy, never a dull moment. Don't skip class-- you miss a lot!
