Hands down best professor I have ever had. such a shame and embarrassment on Kean to let go an amazing professor who was granted a FULBRIGHT. One of the most prestigious grants you could get and you would not let her go without quitting. Shame on you Kean. She has so many degrees from such amazing schools, Kean doesn't deserve a Dr. Manfrino.

As with many others in her department, Dr. Manfrino knows her stuff. She gives you a lot of breathing room when it comes to working on assignments, but don't be stupid and slack off! If you do well enough, she might just invite you down to her research center in the Cayman Islands.

Comment:

She's a nice lady and definitely knows her stuff. Sometimes she comes across and mean and tough, but if you put a little effort and go to her for help, you'll easily get a B+ or A. Just do the labs and attend review sessions. Her two assistants can help you out with anything that seems unclear, they were great.

Where to begin... well for starters she is way to genius to teach an introductory course. Lecture days are useless, attend review days because everything she reviews will be on the test. Invest in the book and basically review material on your own. This should def be an online course with the exception of coming in for lab days. good luck

At first she seems tough, but I think it's to get people out who are not as serious about the subject. She's very passionate about the ocean and helps out a lot if you're nice in return. Gives good reviews for exams the class prior to the exam. She has two assistants...both who are extremely helpful! Easy A or B! Take her! :)

Boy is she an inspiring professor. She has a lot on her plate regarding classes, field research, being a mother, and directing a research center in the cayman island. She forces you to think and work independently which is real preparation for post graduation. If you need babying- not the professor to take. Work load is not impossible. Thumbs up.

Dr. Manfrino started an amazing research center on Little Cayman Island.This class changed my life.With her help I have been moving forward toward my dreams.Best Professor I have ever had!I am taking every class that she teaches.If it wasn't for her I would have dropped out of college.Highly recommend taking her class, OCEN 4601!Nothing bad to say!

Best class ever! She challenges you to be a better scientist and guides you with her passion. Would take her class again anytime! You tell her your interests and she will guide you to your goals! Has a sense of humor and will always be willing to listen and help you with any issues you may have! Always has time for her students!

She is a very smart and passionate Professor. If you have any problems she is always willing to help, you just need to ask. She has a fun teaching strategy as long as you come to class and participate! Took her for every class I could! best professor I have ever had at Kean. Anyone that has anything bad to say about her doesn't belong in college. She is concerned about her students &will go out of her way to help anyone willing to help themselves. She is very intelligent & her passion for marine science &education is contagious. I would recommend her to anyone!

The most unorganized professor I've ever had. She doesn't know what chapters we are on in class. Take a while to give back grades. Does reviews but never actually gives you what you need to study for the test. She missed a lot of classes but makes us come just to watch movies that have nothing to do with what we're learning. Avoid if you can.

Great teacher, really funny. I wish her test were a lot easier and what she reviewed was actually on the test. Overall, she is a good teacher. Her jokes and most of the time funny. She gives you a lot of chances to pick up your grades with the Planet Earth series. Come to class you might find out that it will be worth it at the end.

Professor Manfrino was a blast in the field methods course. The amount of material covered in the short amount of time surpassed all expectations. The class was fun while being hard work. The agenda was not always according to plans, but hey life never is. I recommend taking a class with prof Manfrino, she is fun, nice and you will learn too

shes awesome if you give her a chance. shell reach out if you reach out to her for help. does talk a lot, but about important topics. shes pretty active within the classroom. id recommend her class to someone serious about oceanography or someone who doesnt know if theyre interested yet (not that you have a choice when it comes to oceanography)

Not a professional at all. For someone who loves oceanography she does not make the subject fun and interesting. The classes long and boring, she reads from slides. Gave project and only had half the class present..what that about? Doesnt really follow grading syllabus...beware

A difficult professor to be sure, however not impossible by any means. She will prepare you for future classes by helping you help yourself. She appreciates the independent initiative. She won't help a lot if you aren't proactive and come don't come to her, but she will sit down with anyone willing to put in some time and show them the ropes.
