I honestly have no idea how he has such a high rating, he was easily in the top 3 for worst professors Ive ever had. He was by far the most boring and cynical and would always talk about the need for population control and other weird stuff. I took his online class. He gives lots of quizzes and lots of homework. His class is graded out of a total of 1,000 points with 4 tests being worth 500 points. Im not very good at tests so I had to work really hard to do very well on all my other course work. He doesnt give you a study guide, only a 5 1/2 chapter outline.

Reading the book is a must! He gives good notes, but reading the book will help you get a deeper understanding, which will in turn help you with your exams. He is a person who does a ton of clicker questions, so do not miss class. He also provides study guides which help you in the long run. Class is an easy A.

Dr. Peles is awesome! He's always willing to help, especially with lab reports. He's very enthusiastic about biology. His tests aren't hard, but you have to use the study guide. They're lengthy, but pretty much covers the entire test. He gives pop quizzes, but they're easy if you study your notes from the class before.

Dr. Peles is a great teacher. The powerpoints are easy to understand and are helpful when it comes to the test. He is also very good about answering any questions you have about the material. And he makes the lectures very interesting by adding in class activities and videos. If you pay attention, you will do just fine.

ive had him for a slew of bio courses... hes very nice and he cares on whether the students are understanding the material or not. his tests can be a little rough, you really need to study for them. he gives you a study guide and literally everything in the study guide ( 20+ pages) will be on the test.

Dr. Peles is the man! We spent a good few classes watching some pretty cool videos that were very applicable. Need to take good notes and study a good bit before the exams but they aren't bad (short answer and multiple choice). He is also extremely smart and really cool to talk to. Take him!

Comment:

Somewhat difficult class. Tests are the worst part so be sure to study hard for them. Mechanism-based approach to physiology, so it's great for biology majors. If you don't like biology much, take biol 141 with Wallace; her approach is based more on technical and healthcare applications of physiology. Peles is a nice guy though, I'd recommend him.

I've had other classes with Dr. Peles, but this one was the hardest. Some of the material was interesting, some was boring. All of the material, however, is useful for any science major. Dr. Peles is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. He knows sooo much about the subject and he gives great notes. Hard tests though - study!

Dr. Peles's class is very detailed, the lectures consist of helpful overhead slides. He also passes out studyguides, before exams, to emphasize the main points of the chapters. The classroom atmosphere is fun, comfortable, adn easy going. He is there for extra help at any time. One of the BEST professors!

Dr. Peles was really and truly the best teacher I have ever had. I had virtually little or no interest in the subject, but he made everything so simple to understand. He is very fair and encourages questions. He teaches so well. Take a class with him if you get a chance.

There is a lot of material in this class to remember, but the good news is that there are five smaller tests instead of one or two large tests. Peles does the same thing with STAT 200 and BIOL 230W. He is very good at explaining things and he is pretty good at answering questions.

I don't like BIOL 110 as much as I like STAT 200 with Peles, but it is still fairly interesting. Even though the notes can be a little tedious, they are very helpful, so don't miss class! Labs are kind of boring but they help you remember important things for the test. Peles is a really nice guy and is interested in the success of his students.

I love this class!! I thought I would hate it but it is by far my favorite course this semester! Dr. Peles is a very nice guy and he is quite helpful. If you just pay attention and do the homework and test review packets you should do great in this class.
