Chris is a funny and mysterious dude. He may come across as arrogant and maybe a weirdo in the beginning... you'll either love him or hate him. I loved him and thought he was a cool dude. He engages everyone in cool, deeper thought. You have to write a lot for tests, but he literally gives you the test in a study guide before, so study that up.

Definitely a hard class compared to intro philosophy. He is a good lecturer, and he will stop at nothing to engage you. Participating is in your benefit, as he is a pretty hard grader of participation. His tests, however, are graded quite mercifully. Reading is important, but you NEED to listen during class or you will not do well on tests.

Funniest teacher I have ever had and an amazing guy. There are 4 tests but the study guide he gives is exactly the test. He answers your questions and is possibly one of the best teacher's I have had at Creighton.

Chris is one of my favorite professors. He's hilarious and makes a boring subject enjoyable. Only graded on three tests (and a final) and participation. He gives you all the readings you just have to print them out. Take good notes and do the readings and you'll be good to go. He's always willing to help you if you don't understand something!

He's such a funny guy. The class is all discussion and if you talk he will like you a lot. He cracks jokes and they are very funny. The tests are literally the study guide. The other reviews aren't kidding. They are literally the same questions. Take him if you get the chance.

Anyway, of course, what you want to know is how to get an A. the study guide questions are on the test VERBATIM. Great professor, one of the best I've had at Creighton. Doesn't want anyone to fail and genuinely cares. If anyone hasn't succeeded in this class it's because they didn't study the study guide enough. It's literally the test.

He keeps you entertained the whole class period for sure. However, it one thing that annoys him happens, hell snap at the whole class. You literally cant even miss class more than 2 times or he drops you a whole letter grade. And dont even think about even pulling out your phone. Funny guy but sometimes his jokes might go too far.

Chris is a great guy. I hated him at first, but now his humor has rubbed off on me and it's one of my favorite classes. Don't daydream during class, he'll notice and call you out. If you take good notes and engage in class discussion, you will do just fine. He doesn't want anyone to fail.

Chris is an awesome professor, and clearly has a passion for the classes he teaches. His ultimate questions class focuses on the holocaust and the trial of Adolf Eichmann, which is actually a really interesting topic. However, it's a tough class, lecture runs the full hour fifteen, and you'll have to work really hard to get an A.

Chris is absolutely hilarious. His lectures are always very interesting. His teaching style, makes you want to attend class and be engaged the whole time. He can make uninteresting topics extremely interesting. Make sure you attend class and do the readings but he is such a good professor, you will want to anyway.

Chris comes across like a jerk for the first few weeks of class. Don't let this turn you off from the class, this ended up being my favorite class of Freshman year. He's a super funny and interesting lecturer, but the class always goes the full hour and 15 (sometimes extra.) IMO, take him over someone with a bad rating that may be known as "easier"

Most people probably hate Pliatska but he was my funniest teacher. This lectures were super intense and he will call you out and pick you to pieces if you haven't read. This guy is not politically correct, so don't take him if you're sensitive. Take him if you don't care and want a good laugh though. Participation and tests are super important.

Pliatska was an engaging professor in class but his lecture material got repetitive over time and often spent several class days going over the same material. Make sure to participate as often as possible as it is a big part of your final grade and I wouldn't recommend skipping, attendance is mandatory. Was always available to answer questions.

Pliatska is an awesome professor. This is the first philosophy class Ive ever taken, and was nervous because I had heard it was hard. However, Chris leads a very engaging class and is very funny and creative in his teaching style. Not difficult to do well on the tests if you pay attention, PARTICIPATE, take notes on discussion topics, and study.

He is a great teacher. He may try to scare you away at first by saying the test are hard but stick to the study guide and you will do good. He has review nights before the test, which are very helpful. He is very funny and always makes class enjoyable. Be ready to take his sarcasm but he always means well. You have to work hard to do good.

I originally was not a fan of Chris or the class overall. However, throughout the semester I've come to enjoy going to class. You really need to know the material for tests, but he has study sessions and gives a study guide--use both of these resources!!

Not bad. Great professor and can put everything into layman's terms if you don't completely understand it. Don't be fooled: class might be fun, but be prepared to study your rear end off for exams: they're nearly 80% of your grade and they are extremely difficult. I'd take him again because he's like a funnier version of Christian Slater.

I've heard of people who hate Pliatska and I've heard of people who adore him. I consider myself one of the latter as he is my favorite professor thus far. He is hilarious, which makes his lectures super engaging. Participation matters A LOT as his entire lecture is based on the questions we ask. Read the book; raise your hand; laugh at his jokes.
